Volantes Technical Recruitment are seeking an experienced CAMO Type Engineer to join a leading helicopter operation in Aberdeen!
The CAMO Type Engineer is responsible for ensuring the continuing airworthiness of AW139, AW169 and EC175B fleets in compliance with UK CAA Part CAMO requirements.
The role involves managing airworthiness activities, supporting maintenance programmes, technical records and regulatory compliance, while providing technical support to operational teams and responding to AOG situations.
The role also includes participation in an out-of-hours on-call rota and engagement with Type Certificate Holders (TCHs), manufacturers and other technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Manage continuing airworthiness activities for AW139, AW169 and EC175B aircraft
Develop, review and amend Aircraft Maintenance Programmes (AMP)
Ensure compliance with UK CAA Part CAMO requirements
Review and action Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs) and other requirements
Monitor aircraft technical status and liaise with maintenance planning teams
Liaise with Part 145 organisations to support compliant maintenance execution
Analyse technical reliability data and implement corrective actions
Support internal and external audits and regulatory inspections
Provide technical support to operations and engineering teams
Maintain accurate aircraft records and continuing airworthiness documentation
Provide AOG technical support as part of the on-call rota
Liaise between Part 145 teams and OEM/TCHs on technical issues
Represent the organisation at TCH meetings and technical conferences
Experience
3–5+ years’ experience in a CAMO or aviation engineering environment
Experience with AW139, AW169 and/or EC175B preferred
Strong knowledge of helicopter maintenance and airworthiness requirements
Strong working knowledge of UK CAA regulatory requirements and post-Brexit regulations
Experience working with TCH/OEM technical teams and aviation authorities
Familiarity with ARC processes and airworthiness review standards
Skills & Knowledge
Strong understanding of UK CAA Part CAMO and Part 145 requirements
Experience with CAMO IT systems, Microsoft Office and SharePoint
Strong planning, organisation and attention to detail
Good technical analysis and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage AOG and time-critical technical issues
Strong communication skills with operations, maintenance teams, OEMs and regulators
Ability to interpret OEM technical data
MSG-3 and MRB knowledge
Knowledge of UK CAA and EASA regulations
Understanding of offshore operational constraints
Willingness to travel as required
On-Call Requirement
The role includes an on-call rota of approximately 1 week every 3 weeks. A day rate is paid for being on call, with additional overtime paid for any work required during out-of-hours periods. On-call support is for AOG situations.
