Summary
We have a current opportunity for someone to join our Product Assurance Team as a Quality Engineer in our facility in Jacksonville, FL. In this role you will be responsible for quality assurance and control over projects in the Jacksonville facility. This includes identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, data analysis and trending, nonconformance reporting, inspection activities, and incorporating technical and regulatory requirements into the quality management system.
Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and lead continuous improvement efforts
- Perform data analysis and trending to draw valid conclusions
- Ensure all nonconformances are documented. Assure timely processing of nonconforming materials and assist in the disposition process
- Participate in the Material Review Board and Anomaly/Failure Review Board processes
- Direct Quality Control inspection activities
- Provide input on Quality to engineering teams
- Write and conduct training on Quality Assurance processes and procedures
- Conduct internal audits and supplier audits, including generating audit reports and recommended corrective actions. May act as the main contact in an audit.
- Incorporate technical and regulatory requirements into Quality Management System (QMS) documentation
- Works with supply chain to ensure adequate supplier performance through audits and inspections
- Drive process adherence
Ideal Experience
- BS degree in Engineering or related field. Qualification as a Certified Quality Engineer may be used in lieu of the degree requirement with directly relevant industry experience of at least 5 years.
- 2 years of relevant experience in an environment with an established QMS (ISO9001, AS9100, or similar)
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
- Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members and managers
- Strong technical writing skills
- Experience using Military, Government, or NASA standards
- Experience reviewing engineering and quality documentation with exceptional attention to detail
- Experience utilizing Root Cause Analysis and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis tools
- Knowledge of hardware inspection techniques
- Aerospace or aviation experience
Desired Skills
- Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt
- AS9100 Lead Auditor
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Excel Data Analysis Pack
- Metrology Management
