JOB PURPOSE
The Level II Technician will be performing calibrations, Non-destructive Tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and record results. Level II Technician will be qualified to set up and calibrate equipment and to interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications. Level II Technician will be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the method of NDT being used and should exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of assistants and Level I Technicians. Level II Technicians organize and report the results of NDT.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands: Requires sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Requires frequent walking, bending, stooping, squatting, climbing, and reaching above shoulder level. Requires occasional crawling, crouching, kneeling, and balancing. Requires frequent lifting, carrying pushing, or pulling weight up to 10 pounds. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Equipment Operated: NDT equipment including eddy, current, ultrasonic, dye penetrant, magnetic particle equipment, ladders, and stands.
Work Location: Aircraft maintenance hangar and flightline.
Protective Equipment Required: Goggles, safety glasses, ear protection,
aprons, gloves, safety harnesses, and breathing equipment.
Potential Hazards: Exposure to high intensity noise levels, changes in temperature, materials identified on Safety Data Sheets, and working around moving machinery.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to organize and plan work adhering to deadlines; attention to detail and mathematical skills; ability to read, write, and understand the English language and to follow verbal and written instruction; ability to interpret and apply technical data relating to the position; ability to safely drive and operate a standard shift automotive vehicle and other applicable equipment; ability to work with or without supervision.
Education/Training: High School diploma or equivalent required. Specific training and appropriate documentation to obtain a minimum of Level II for NDT disciplines as described in the Ascent Aviation Process Manual are required.
Experience: Appropriate work experience to obtain a minimum of Level II as described in the Ascent Aviation Process Manual.
Certificates/Licenses: A&P Certificate or ability to obtain Repairman’s Certificate. Current valid driver’s license.
Other: May be required to work at both Marana, AZ and Tucson, AZ locations as business needs dictate.
