Role Summary

This role is responsible for executing on the strategy for ensuring operational excellence and reliability through our ground support equipment maintenance program. As a people leader, the Regional Ground Support Equipment Manager leads and establishes priorities for a group of Quality Control Specialist to manages the work of 3rd party vendors(s) for optimal use of our labor/parts and providing creative solutions in a dynamic environment.

Key Duties


Provide input in the strategy for the development and implementation of safety, operational and compliance standards for ground support equipment that ensures all work groups meet or exceed their operational performance goals


Lead and establish priorities of the Quality Control program for system wide GSE maintenance activities.


Manage the operations component of the vendor contract.


Make decisions on key performance measures and ensure that maintenance commitments are achieved by GSE maintenance business partner(s).


Drive adherence to established manufacturer and company preventative maintenance programs.


Ensure business partner(s) maintain an appropriate repair program that provides timely return to service.


Collaborate with stations on performance and corrective measures relative to GSE.


Collaborate with Safety Leaders on various initiatives that enhance the delivery of safe and reliable equipment.


Exercise considerable latitude and initiative in partnership with business partner(s) to ensure an adequate stock of spare parts, supplies, and routine expendable items are readily available to support maintenance needs.


Leads a high-performance culture by supporting and motivating direct/indirect reports through coaching, mentoring, and by providing regular and meaningful feedback.


Identifies and provides career development opportunities through developmental assignments and formal/informal training.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required


5 years of experience of practical ground support equipment experience.


2 years of leadership experience.


Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.


Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work independently as well as partner with others at all levels of the organization.


Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).


Self-motivated, with the ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure.


Strong critical reasoning, judgement, and decision-making skills.


Ability to travel up to 50%.


High school diploma or equivalent.


Minimum age of 18.


Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred


ASE Certification.


Technical trade school in repair and maintenance.


Electric powered vehicle experience.

Salary Range

$108,200 - $167,800 / year

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
