Manager Network Planning and Route Development

Our client is operating the largest fleet of ATR 72-600 series in the Oceania region complimented with a fleet of DASH-8. The airline is the leading operator in the country and currently operates in nearly 30 domestic destinations. 

Position

The Commercial division seeks potential candidates for the position of Manager Network Planning and Route Development and reports to the General Manager Commercial. 

Requirements

• Must be a Degree qualified or equivalent;
• 5-10 years Experienced in Relevant scheduling, inventory and pricing experience within the airline/travel industry.
• A very high standard of accuracy and attention to detail are vital.
• Excellent analytical ability to evaluate and choose from a number of complex options.
• An organized approach and ability to prioritize tasks in a manner which maximizes revenue.
• High standard of computer literacy with the ability to develop competency in other tools and systems used within scheduling, revenue management and the commercial team.
• Commercial awareness and acumen and Must be able to demonstrate good commercial/business sense and appreciation of the commercial implications of their decisions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with all levels of management.

Terms

1. Gross salary: Aud 150k (probation) and AUD 160k per annum

7. Working patterns - 8 to 5pm weekdays only

General

The roles primary responsibility is to strategically plan, optimize, and manage the airlines route network to maximize revenue, profitability, and operational efficiency while meeting customer demand and market conditions. The role will cover regular schedules, charters and cargo.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Route Planning: Develop long-term strategies for network expansion, route optimization, and fleet deployment aligned with the airlines overall business objectives and market dynamics.

Route Development: Identify and evaluate new routes and markets for potential expansion, considering factors such as passenger demand, competition, regulatory requirements, and economic viability.

Network Optimization: Continuously analyze and adjust the existing route network to optimize capacity utilization, minimize operating costs, and maximize revenue generation through effective scheduling and routing decisions.

Fleet Planning: Continuously analyze fleet planning to ensure that the aircraft fleet is deployed efficiently to support the airlines route network, considering factors such as aircraft range, capacity, and operating economics.

Market Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats in target markets, enabling data-driven decision-making in route planning and development.

Schedule Planning: Develop optimized flight schedules that balance passenger demand, aircraft utilization, and operational constraints to maximize revenue and customer satisfaction while minimizing costs and inefficiencies.

Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor the performance of the route network, analyze trends, and identify opportunities for improvement or optimization.

Budgeting and Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets for route development initiatives, ensuring that investments are aligned with strategic priorities and deliver a positive return on investment while maintaining financial discipline.
