Summary

JAARS is looking for a few industry proven aircraft mechanics eager to expand the kingdom of God, using their skills to maintain fixed wing and helicopters used in delivering God's Word to those in remote isolated locations like Papua New Guinea. This is a great opportunity to use your God given skills and know-how to further His kingdom. As a Lead Aircraft Mechanic, your role will be to carry out aircraft maintenance and lead other personnel through supervised and coordinated maintenance tasks. You will receive hands-on preparation at our headquarters in Waxhaw, NC (6 to 9 months) to then serve overseas, likely in Papua New Guinea (typically 3 years).

Responsibilities

  •  Perform safe and on schedule aircraft maintenance.
  • Supervise personnel in maintenance operations, line maintenance, inspections, repairs or modifications on aircraft and components. 
  • Manage and distribute work assignments to personnel.
  • Oversee the work schedule for aircraft, component repairs and inspections.
  • Plan for parts and consumable needs used in maintaining aircraft.
  • Mentor and instruct mechanic trainees and helpers.
  • Communicate maintenance needs and concerns with the Maintenance Manager and maintenance team.
  • Complete and maintain accurate aircraft records at the completion of maintenance.
  • RTS (Release to Service) maintenance carried out or supervised.
  • Pursue further PNG Aircraft Maintenance Engineer licenses as required maintaining a log or Practical Training Record (PTR) of experience.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience minimum
  • Preferred Experience on the following aircraft and components:
    • Bell 206 L helicopters
    • Quest Kodiak 100 airplanes
    • PT6 engines
    • Rolls Royce 250C30 (or C series) engines
  • Able to communicate end results and expectations
