Flight test instrumentation technician

Excel Technical Consulting are currently looking for an FTI technician with extensive instrumentation and sensor experience, for a 6-month fixed term contract based in Kemble, UK to join a relatively new company in the aerospace community focusing on working prototypes, aiming at evolving and implementing cutting edge technology, in their creation of eVTOL aircraft for the future of passenger travel.

The successful candidate should be able to work without supervision planning and overseeing a variety of tasks including:

Calibration of FTI sensors/parameters
Calibration of flight data
Control over the FTI including servicing, pre and post flight data interpretation including downloads of flight test data
Fault finding on sensors, wiring, and data acquisition Maintenance and control of FTI data logging records and FTI telemetry equipment
Applying instrumentation to aircraft, training can be provided
Ensuring paperwork or flight recordings are completed and maintained
Maintenance and configuration of FTI
Commissioning of FTI installations, including system test and confirmation of sensor operations

Experience with data acquisition programmes is a must for this role, ideally using Curtiss Wright KAM500, Lord Microstrain, and/or Dewesoft/ Dewetron programmes but any similar instrumentation of calibration software experience would be considered.
You will ideally hold HNC/HND qualifications in electrics or electronic in addition to having a working knowledge of various sensors including strain gauges, accelerometers, thermocouples, potentiometers and aircraft bus tappings, you will also hold a full UK driving license.  

The role will be based mainly at Kemble but will also involve occasional deployment around the UK for detached trials and flight demonstration, there may also be a requirement for shift work at periods of very high demand.
