Duties and responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:

Essential Job Function

In this position you will be primarily based at the Hangar 2 site and report directly to the Compliance Monitoring Manager. Duties will include: 

  • Ensuring the regulated 145, 147, 21 and CAMO activities are monitored for compliance with the applicable requirements and any additional requirements as established by the organisation.
  • Ensure the independent compliance monitor plan is implemented as planned, maintained, and continually reviewed and improved including feedback to the SMS system and the recurrent training program.
  • Ensuring contracted activity is monitored for compliance with the contract or work order. 
  • Ensuring national and foreign aviation regulations are observed and implemented appropriately.
  • Liaising with NAA aviation authorities.
  • Monitoring the implementation of a corrective action plan and conduct a follow up to ensure compliance.
  • Ensuring process non-compliance including systemic findings, repeat findings, risk mitigation non-compliance, customer complaints and technical safety issues are identified and communicated to the Compliance and Safety management, with ultimate feedback to the appropriate Accountable manager.
  • Monitoring the amendment of the organisation’s procedures and standard practices and their compliance with the current revision of the applicable regulation plus any other applicable regulatory requirement and guidance material issued by EASA or other NAA.
  • Compliance with the duties and responsibilities outlined in the organisations approved policies and expositions.
  • Monitoring the assessment of providers of materials, standard parts, components and contracted organisations for satisfactory product quality in relation to the needs of the organisation.
  • Ensuring the assessment and monitoring of subcontractors.
  • Ensuring compliance engineers maintain their continuing professional development and competence necessary to monitor compliance of the organisation.
  • Co-ordinating actions on airworthiness occurrences with the ASMS department including associated investigations. 
  • Validating organisational standard practices and procedures, ensuring their adequacy in respect of regulatory requirements and Bilateral maintenance agreements including and any amendments to these Regulation.
  • Maintaining and controlling changes to the organisational approved component capability List.
  • Maintaining and controlling changes to the approved Part Fabrication list.
  • Issue, renewal, cancellation of staff authorisations.
  • Compliance monitoring to ensure that all technical training is to acceptable standards in conjunction with current airworthiness requirements.
  • Liaison and co-operation with the Aviation SMS and EHS teams, in the performance of their duties.
  • Leading and support continuous improvement and alignment projects across all business units and compliance functions.
  • Planning compliance monitoring function man-hours. 
  • Deputising in the absence of the Compliance monitoring manager.


Candidate Competencies:The applicant should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • An understanding of management systems, including the role compliance monitoring in the aviation environment.
  • An understanding of risk management.
  • Leadership skills in directing, delegation and supervision.
  • An understanding of safety investigation techniques and root cause methodologies.
  • An understanding of Human Factors and Human Performance.
  • Understanding and promotion of a positive compliance and safety culture;
  • Knowledge of auditing techniques including: planning, conducting and reporting.
  • Must possess confident and effective interpersonal communication skills when dealing with colleagues, internal & external customers and authorities.
  • Ability to communicate and to present information clearly and concisely both verbal and written, with attention to detail.
  • Highly self-motivated and proactive with a willingness to take initiative.
  •  Ability to work independently and to take responsibility
  • Flexible approach to work, to match the operational requirements.   
  • Proficient in MS Office and comfortable learning new operating systems.
  • Willingness to occasional travel.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience working within Part 145, Part M, Part 147 and Part 21 regulated environments is preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of EASA/FAA and 3rd country regulations.
  • 5 years of relevant work experience, of which at least 2 years should be from the aeronautical industry in an appropriate position; 
  • A relevant engineering degree or an aircraft maintenance technician qualification with additional education that is acceptable to the competent authority. ‘Relevant engineering degree’ means an engineering degree from aeronautical, mechanical, electrical, electronic, avionic or other studies that are relevant to the maintenance and/or continuing airworthiness of aircraft/aircraft components; 

 Typical Working Conditions

  • Primarily based in Shannon however travel is a requirement of the role
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays and overtime, may be required
  • Must satisfy and maintain airport security requirements
