Job description

Must be able to give leadership to the team of technicians using clear verbal communication, interpersonal skills, technical guidance and hold the team accountable for performance in a high stress maintenance environment under demanding timelines.

Basic Job Functions

  • Provide leadership and supervise the aircraft maintenance technicians (AMT’s), including documenting employee performance, addressing personnel issues, assigning and follow up on tasks by setting clear priorities that the team is working in a productive manner while maintaining the highest quality standards in a clean, organized and safe work environment.
  • Responsible for the organization of tooling and equipment utilized to service and repair aircraft.
  • Participate in daily production meetings with Flight operations to discuss scheduled maintenance events and downtimes.
  • Work directly with the Director of Maintenance on work estimates for quotes and production timelines.
  • Assist the Chief Inspector to identify and assess the training requirements for the maintenance personnel and outside contractors.
  • Provide training and assist the technicians in proper work procedures and practices.
  • Ensure technicians and personnel have the proper training and tooling to accomplish the assigned tasks / work.
  • Ensure technicians document their completed work between work shifts to ensure continuity of work and inspections.
  • Responsible for maintenance production and to coordinate and support all other departments of the Company.
  • Work directly with customers to provide support, schedule work and provide quotes.
  • Supervise and follow up on work in progress, outside services, and incoming parts. Track lead times and turn-around times to meet or adjust schedules.
  • Read and interpret manufacturers’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Provide guidance and instruction to team members concerning technical orders, checklists, and hazardous materials.
  • Ensure availability of materials, anticipating requirements and reordering. Assist in aircraft / equipment movement.
  • Ensure that maintenance activity is properly documented on work orders in EBIS and associated quality documentation and binders.
  • Assure the proper handling of all parts while in the repair process and when work is completed.
  • Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and alterations on company and customer aircraft.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the aircraft repair and modification business.
  • Good understanding of the FAR’s Part 21, 23, 25, 39, 43, 135, 145, 65 and not limited to.
  • Must be able to communicate in a positive and motivating manor, provide effective leadership, interpersonal skills, and hold the operation accountable to results.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and fluently in the English language.
  • Must be able to type, have a working knowledge of various computer applications such as Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook).
  • Provide daily production reports on the progress of incoming work, project progress, and budget target goals

Experience & Education

  • Minimum (5) years performing aircraft maintenance and returning aircraft to service
  • Preferred (3) years supervising and leading a maintenance team
  • Experience planning, leading, and completing projects on time and budget.

 

 

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • Must be able to support the operation 24/7 on site and remotely.
  • Must be able to work effectively under high pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds to waste level and 30 pounds to shoulder height.
  • Ability to handle and resolve technical issues and problems.
