Description:

Extant's strategic focus is supporting original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and their customers by licensing and/or acquiring non-core and legacy aerospace products and sustaining them in the marketplace including proactive obsolescence management and aftermarket support services. Our licensing/acquisition transactions provide a high-quality solution to the challenges that often accompany the continuing aftermarket support of these systems and components and enable OEMs to focus their resources on current products and new product research and development.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the M&A Product Integration Manager, this is an individual contributor role.
  • Working with the front-end acquisitions team, responsible for all supply chain transition activities associated with the acquisition and transition of product lines.
  • Analyze new supplier base to identify risks to quality, delivery, lead-times, etc., and develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure new suppliers are onboarded into Approved Vendor List (AVL) and work with the suppliers directly to transfer open material purchase orders to Extant within defined cost and schedule parameters.
  • Responsible for the bulk inventory transfer from the OEM location to the Extant Melbourne, FL facility, including strategic analysis of inventory activity, ERP warehouse locations, and safety stock levels.
  • Analyze overall supply base in support of supplier consolidation efforts to reduce costs.
  • Responsible quoting and purchasing of all equipment, tooling, consumables, etc., as requested by the transition team, and tracking the items through delivery to support Extant operations readiness.
  • Manage Last Time Buy (LTB) material of obsolete parts; confirm transfer quantities support Extant needs.
  • Manage the transfer of OEM tooling/dies and Customer Furnished Material (CFM) at the supply base.
  • Transition all supply chain responsibilities to sustainment Material Managers and Buyers within the responsible Business Units
  • This position will require significant travel (up to 50%), mostly U.S. based but occasionally abroad.

Ideal candidate will be:

  • Collaborative and able to build strong trust with leaders and employees of diverse backgrounds and situations at all levels.
  • Self-driven with a bias for action and sense of urgency and timeliness to meet schedule objectives.
  • An exceptional communicator in both written and verbal interactions; clear, concise, and courageous in giving tough but supportive feedback when needed.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and constant change, nimble and responsive in the short-term while driving progress on longer-term initiatives.
  • A strong critical thinker with reasoning and analytical skills.

Minimum Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field plus a minimum of 10 years direct industry experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree e.g., MBA and closer to 12 years of industry experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel data analytics.
