About Avalon Aero

Avalon Aero started operations in 2000 by providing hands-on technical advice and maintenance support for the conversion, and subsequent worldwide operation, of a specialist BAe 146 research aircraft. Martin, our Managing Director, has been with us from the start and has helped build the company into the premier maintenance provider that we see today. Crucially, growth has not eradicated the ingrained core values that are typical of a small, family-run business.

We pride ourselves on our reputation for being open, trustworthy, reliable and transparent in all our activities and relationships. We work tirelessly to make our customers’ involvement as straightforward as possible and we have a proven record in offering those customers the reassurance of knowing that their valuable assets will be delivered back to them on budget, on time and in good order. In the competitive and demanding aviation industry, we realise how important it is to keep our delivery promises.

Over the past 25+ years, we have built up a second-to-none reputation for the provision of aircraft maintenance, special mission projects and large scale, bespoke conversions on various aircraft types and sizes; our skill set with the BAe146 / Avro RJ types is renowned across the world.

Not content with resting on our laurels, we are committed to expanding into the future. We have recently relocated into a newly refurbished, larger facility at Cranfield Airport, UK, and made significant investments into adopting new aircraft types and special mission projects.

Pay and Benefits Package

Avalon Aero do not take our employees for granted, they are after all the beating heart of our operations, so looking through our "Family Business Style " prism of values, we look at the whole package that we can offer, not just a salary figure.

The Package on offer includes the following:

  • Strong Company Pension Scheme (Salary Sacrifice) that rewards employees for their length of service and for increasing their own personal contributions, which can result in thousands of Pounds saved over the course of your employment.
  • No day shift / night shift patterns, just standard eight hour days Monday through Friday, which can be completed anytime between 7am through 6pm, allowing you a greater flexibility in your role.
  • Overtime available during weekends and evenings as required, paid at 1.5 times your salary.
  • Type Rating Pay - be rewarded for bringing certain Aircraft Types across to us and for future types received.
  • Training opportunities available, including funding for Type Rating courses, Personal Development courses etc. in a range of subjects.
  • Holiday entitlement of up to 28 Days paid leave per year plus all UK Statutory Days.
  • A generous Authorised Absence Entitlement policy, which allows up to 30 days paid absence for illness / medical appointments / family bereavement and care giving / Jury Service to name just a few examples.
  • Various Salary Sacrifice Schemes available, such as Ride 2 Work, Holiday exchange etc.
  • Private Medical Insurance, which can cover yourself, your partner and any dependants up to the age of 18. This includes Mental Health Support, 24/7 direct contact to a GP / Nurse Practitioner, Financial Wellbeing tools and discounts to Gyms / Fitness centres.
  • Relocation Payment – for the right candidate we will assist with the cost of relocating closer to Avalon Aero’s Base Maintenance facility. This includes sponsoring Non-UK Nationals to obtain the appropriate visa’s to obtain the right to work within the UK

Overall, the annual package on offer is circa £85,000
