Structural Mechanic

Location: Jacksonville, FL

Rate: $31 Hourly

Shift: Second

Start Time: 2:00 PM

End Time: 10:30 PM

Job Description:

• Minimum of 3 years in aircraft structures.

• Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assembling aircraft structures and components using tools such as jigs, fixtures, drills, files, and rivet guns.
  • Utilizing precision measuring instruments like dial indicators, micrometers, and calipers.
  • Replacing structural elements like ribs and stringers, guided by detailed blueprints.
  • Operating equipment including brakes, grinders, and saws.
  • Addressing tasks like locating blind hole locations, correcting structural deformities, and treating corrosion.
  • Documenting maintenance actions and ordering necessary parts and tools.
  • Assisting and training new mechanics.
  • Using basic computer systems for communication and documentation.

• Advanced Tasks:

  • Performing close tolerance assembly operations.
  • Maintaining, repairing, and modifying aircraft structures and components.
  • Applying technical knowledge in troubleshooting and restoring equipment.
  • Interpreting technical documentation for complex problem-solving.

• Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting and repair.
  • Familiarity with aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair.
  • Basic understanding of electrical theory.
  • Proficiency in using unique aircraft tools like torque wrenches and micrometers.
  • Ability to lead teams and make log entries as needed.
  • Prioritization skills to maintain project schedules.

Education / Experience:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
