Role Responsibilities

  • Design and develop distributed systems to support satellite operations.
  • Collaborate with teams to define system requirements and architecture.
  • Implement software solutions to enable efficient data processing and transmission.
  • Optimize system performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex distributed systems.
  • Ensure software meets quality and security standards.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and coding standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in software development with a focus on distributed systems.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Rust, Java or C++
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with cloud-based distributed systems and microservices (e.g., AWS, Azure).

    • SQS
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols and distributed computing concepts.
  • Knowledge of data storage and processing technologies
    • SQL
    • MongoDB
    • InfluxDB
    • Kafka, 
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)., gitlab and CI/CD pipeline
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Compensation 

The annual salary range for this role as it is posted is $192,900 - $255,560.  The final job level and annual salary will be determined based on the education, qualification, knowledge, skills, ability, and experience of the final candidate(s), specific office location and calibrated against relevant market data and internal team equity.  Benefits listed in this posting may vary depending on the nature of your employment with Capella Space.
