Location and Schedule   

  • This position will be on-site at Denver International Airport.

  • The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, during business hours (6:30 am – 5:00 pm MST).

  • Schedules are based on the needs of the organization and are subject to change. 

  

What You’ll Do 

As a front-line Aviation Security Technician, you will have the opportunity to monitor the compliance of local and federal security regulations by performing airport background adjudication for potential employees requesting a DEN Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge.   

This position will also process applications for vehicle airfield access, and manage the vehicle database including performing regular audits, for both internal and external DEN stakeholders. 

Responsibilities and duties of the position may include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Providing excellent customer service to a high volume of daily customers in a prompt, efficient, courteous, and professional manner, both in person and over the phone.  

  • Processing and tracking Criminal History Record Checks (CHRC), Security Threat Assessments (STA), and employment authorization for prospective badge holders using DEN’s Identity Management System and other approved software. 

  • Processing and tracking Rap Back Subscriptions, notifications, renewals, and cancellations, including all associated tasks in compliance with Federal Regulations. 

  • Collaborate with Authorized Signatories providing notification of any disqualifying criminal activity associated to Rap Back notifications and current Airport ID badged employees. Takes quick action to remove Airport access from any employee with a disqualifying offense per 49 CFR Part 1542, and Denver Rules and Regulations Part 20. 

  • Verifying Personable Identifiable Information (PII) submitted by individuals and Authorizing Signatories is correct and in compliance with all local, federal regulations, and the Airport Security ProgramEnsuring all information collected is handled following Sensitive Security Information (SSI) and Protected Personal Information (PPI) protocols. 

  • Maintaining and applying accurate knowledge of relevant local and federal regulations applicable to the processing of badging applicants.  

  • Works with Authorized Signatory team, DEN Risk Management, and DEN Airside OPS to complete vehicle vetting forms to grant access into the secured area.  

  • Processing requests for, and authorizing secured area vehicle access and all associated vehicle forms in compliance with local and federal regulations, as well as DEN Rules and Regulations and the Airport Security Program 

  • Processes billing for vehicle permits and investigates billing disputes.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Education Requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.

  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of experience working with access control or identity management database systems related to enforcement of TSA regulations and aviation specific regulations.

  • Education & Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.

  • Licensure & Certification: By position, requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.

FBI Background Check  

FBI criminal background check is for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment. By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be  

  

Shift Work/Emergency Duties 

Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If staffing challenges arise, weather conditions warrant, or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees will be required to work extended hours and/or alternative shifts (includes nights, weekends, and holidays).
