The Aircraft Appearance Manager plays a vital role in safeguarding the quality and condition of aircraft interiors, prioritizing the interests of aircraft owners. This position involves a diverse range of responsibilities, including aircraft interior and exterior maintenance, asset management, client communication, vendor coordination, and documentation. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proven experience as an Aircraft Interior Technician or Manager, with a strong background in interior maintenance and refurbishment.
  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft interior components, materials, and finishes.
  • Proficiency in performing paint work with precision and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in performing meticulous work on leather surfaces, including repairs, conditioning, and restoration.
  • Proficiency in cabinetry work, demonstrating the ability to maintain, repair, and refurbish cabinetry components.
  • Responsible for the Planning, Execution, and Auditing of aircraft for refurbishment events.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and internal teams.
  • Be a point of contact for paint and interior suppliers to answer questions and provide direction when problems arise.
  • Place materials and parts on order through maintenance systems.
  • Must be able to utilize Tech Data to ensure compliance and eligibility of materials and components.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Ensures the timely completion of forecasting and budgeting for upcoming maintenance events by assigned maintenance controller.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
  • Other duties as assigned by the aircraft owner or management.



Requirements

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform required duties. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: 

  • Must be able to walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to eight (8) hours per day.
  • May be required to lift up-to 30 lbs. to the height of 4 feet and up to 20 lbs. to a height of 7 feet.
  • May be required to carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • On occasion, must be able to lift up-to 80 pounds.
  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp, or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
  • Must be able to routinely climb / descend stairs.

Work Environment

  • Working knowledge of OSHA and company requirements.
  • Knowledge of safe working techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workflow.
  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Able to handle sensitive documents in a very confidential manner.
  • Able to take initiative and execute assigned tasks in a timely and flawless manner.
  • Strong passion for working in a fast-paced and result-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of flight line operations, aircraft/vehicle movement, and safety/hazards.
  • Advanced knowledge of aircraft common and special tools and test equipment, aircraft technical orders and drawings, charts, and technical publications.
  • Some travel may be required.

Experience and Qualifications

The most successful candidate in the position will meet most, if not all, of the following criteria.

  • FAA certification or relevant qualifications in aircraft maintenance preferred.
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Expert level knowledge of FAA regulations as it pertains to aircraft interiors and paint.
  • Eye for detail with ability to recognize damage, defects, and other inconsistencies in materials.
  • Demonstrated fluency in English (written & spoken) with aptitude for descriptive and professional writing.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic, operational environment with shifting priorities.
  • Fluency and knowledge of applicable industry specific-software tools, including maintenance and flight tracking software highly preferred
