Northrop Grumman is looking for an Aircraft Mechanic with experience on the EA-18G Growler aircraft. This effort will support a modification program at NAS Whidbey Island (Oak Harbor) Washington where the EA-18G Aircraft Mechanic will be responsible for Organizational Level (“O” level) support. To include:
Responsibilities:
Understanding pre / post flight activities and inspections
Performing maintenance operations on F-18 aircraft, aircraft equipment, engines, components, and systems in accordance with all applicable directives.
Performs a variety of operations of aircraft tear-down and build-up to include assembly and disassembly of components, rudders, flaps, stabilizers, and other associated flight controls.
Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, test procedures, etc.
Able to setup and use a torque wrench and use common hand tools such as: wrenches, safety wire pliers, etc.
Measures parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Basic Qualifications for EA-18G Aircraft Mechanic:
Have at least 3 years of EA-18G experience and familiarity with inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, removals, and repairs.
Must have an active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
Must have comprehensive written and verbal English communication skills.
Must have the ability to work flexible schedules to accommodate customer maintenance requirements.
Must be able to clearly document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, parts requests, etc.
Must be able to perform assigned duties while wearing required safety equipment.
Will be required to comply with all rules and regulations concerning health and safety, tool control, FOD control, and all training and certification requirements.
This position requires the ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 35 pounds, working overhead, and accessing small, confined spaces
Must be able to pass a physical/respiratory evaluation to obtain and maintain necessary respirator clearance and compliance with all respirator fitting requirements
