A&P Aircraft Mechanic (Las Vegas, NV)

Join Frontier Airlines in Las Vegas as an A&P Aircraft Mechanic maintaining our Airbus A320 fleet to FAA standards and Frontier procedures. Perform inspections, repairs and line maintenance that help keep aircraft safe, compliant and departure-ready. 

Compensation 

Base pay: $29.39 per hour, increasing to $29.90 per hour after 90 days 

Additional premiums: 

• $1.20/hour Airframe (A) license 
• $1.20/hour Powerplant (P) license 
• $1.00/hour Run/Taxi qualified after training 
• $1.00/hour graveyard shift differential 
• $0.75/hour for 3 years of Airbus experience and Gen Fam certification or after training 
• $0.75/hour for 3 years of Airbus experience and Troubleshooting certification or after training 

This is a bargaining-unit position with schedule, shift and pay determined by seniority. All A&P Mechanics may be required to participate in AOG field trips as outlined in the labor contract.

What you’ll do at Frontier Airlines 
The A&P Aircraft Mechanic is a working member of the maintenance organization responsible for completing required aircraft maintenance in accordance with Frontier procedures and federal aviation regulations. 

Responsibilities include: 

• Perform and assist with approved maintenance work during the scheduled shift. 
• Ensure assigned work documents and records are complete and accurate. 
• Seek required on-the-job training to achieve and maintain qualification standards. 
• Perform engine runs and aircraft taxi when trained, qualified and authorized. 
• Operate ground support equipment (GSE) and passenger vehicles within airport movement areas when properly licensed, endorsed and airport-qualified. 
• Operate passenger vehicles on public roads and at offsite facilities when all applicable licensing, Frontier endorsement and airport qualification requirements are met. 
• Coordinate activities with the lead mechanic or station supervisor. 
• Research information and materials required for scheduled aircraft work. 
• Maintain clean maintenance areas and follow clean-as-you-go practices. 
• Maintain positive tool-control accountability and ensure personal and company-owned tools are removed from aircraft, engines, appliances and components. 
• Immediately report lost or found tools to management. 
• Follow applicable rules and regulations to maintain a safe working environment. 
• Enter required information into aircraft maintenance tracking systems. 
• Comply with procedures required under the MEL/CDL/NEF Program. 
• Monitor completion of aircraft records, including logbook pages, work cards, non-routines, engineering documents and related records. 
• Make FMIS entries as required. 
• Maintain familiarity with training requirements defined in the GMM 100: Maintenance Training Program and ensure required training is current before performing applicable functions or tasks. 
• Follow approved published procedures unless an authorized deviation has been issued. 
• For Interior Crew assignments, remove, repair and reinstall aircraft interiors including seats, galleys, lavatories, sidewalls, ceilings and flooring. 
• Perform other duties as assigned. 

What you’ll bring to Frontier Airlines 

• FAA certificated mechanic with Airframe and Powerplant ratings. 
• Ability to acquire, hold, maintain and use a valid motor vehicle driver’s license. 
• Two (2) years of experience performing maintenance in areas such as maintenance checks, engine changes, landing gear changes, structural repairs, flight control rigging or component maintenance on A320-series or similar large aircraft, or successful completion of an accredited A&P mechanic training course. 
• When directed by management, must obtain taxi and run-up qualification on all aircraft types within six months of assignment in Line Maintenance. 

Interior Crew Mechanic: Additional Qualifications 

• FAA certificated mechanic with Airframe rating. 
• Two (2) years of experience performing maintenance in one or more of the following areas on A320-series or similar large aircraft: maintenance checks, engine changes, landing gear replacement, structural repairs, flight control rigging or component maintenance, or successful completion of an accredited A&P mechanic training course. 
• When directed by management, must obtain taxi and run-up qualification on all aircraft types within six months of assignment in Line Maintenance. 
• Must have the ability to complete differences training. 
• Must have the ability to plan, organize and administer workloads. 
• Position requires extremely strenuous physical work involving objects in excess of 100 pounds occasionally and in excess of 50 pounds frequently. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

• Must complete differences training as necessary. 
• Must obtain Taxi and Run-up qualification within six months of start. 
• Must be able to perform strenuous work requiring lifting, pushing and/or pulling objects in excess of 100 pounds occasionally and objects in excess of 50 pounds regularly. 
• Demonstrated safety-consciousness. 
• Ability to work well as part of a team. 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities. 
• Demonstrated timeliness and dependability.
