An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced project manager to join the Gama Aviation Project Management Office (PMO) in support of work across the Gama Group. This is a diverse role which requires knowledge and experience of many different aspects of the Aviation Industry. The successful candidate will be required to engage confidently at a senior level within the three Strategic Business Units (SBU) and be able to tailor internal process for the different and specific needs of each SBU. The project manager will be responsible for all aspects of project delivery to the point at which a capability is transitioned to a business as usual state. The ability to contribute to bid development and commercial negotiations is highly desirable as is the ability to build and manage long term customer relationships.
/ Principle Responsibilities:
Assisting the PMO with the delivery of projects across the business and acting as the focal point for internal stakeholders during the planning and initiation phases of a project.
Providing robust project governance in line with internal processes and industry best practice.
The development, ownership and implementation of project management plans, schedules, risk registers and other associated tools.
Internal and external reporting including schedule, financial and quality performance.
Assisting with bid development work as required, providing inputs on cost, schedule and risk.
Providing assistance to account managers during the business as usual phase of a contract.
Delivering briefs to the senior leadership team and providing assistance in the preparation of briefs and presentations to the Board of Directors.
/ Key Relationships:
Reports to Head of Delivery and PMO.
Accountable to – Managing Directors of SBUs.
Principle contacts – Gama PM and account manager community.
/ Person Specification:
Significant experience of delivering complex projects, ideally in an aviation, manufacturing or technology environment.
Proven ability to work as part of a matrix organisation.
Able to apply different methodology as required ie waterfall vs agile.
Able to manage multiple projects concurrently without impacting performance.
Excellent communication skills with a range of audiences including senior managers and customers.
Experience of forming and maintaining working relationships across professional and operational boundaries.
Experience of commercial and contract negotiation processes.
Proficient in a range of project management software tools including MS Project.
• Formal project management qualification such as Prince 2, APM PMQ, Management of Risk (MoR) and Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) are highly desirable.
Hours: Full time 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:00
