HSE Engineer II - General Safety

As a Honeywell Aerospace Health, Safety, Environmental Engineer II, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and maintaining the Tempe site’s HSE management system.  Your contributions will ensure compliance with Honeywell Aerospace HSE programs, support HSE and facilities initiatives and enhance the site safety culture.  

You will report directly to our Sr HSE Manager and work on-site in Tempe, AZ. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement the Honeywell Health, Safety, Environmental Management System
  • Manage the following HSE Programs for the site: Communication & Participation, Management of Change, Contractor Safety, Document & Record Management, PPE, Powered Industrial Vehicles, Cranes & Hoists, Food Handlers and Food Safety, Working Alone, and others as team needs change
  • Develop and implement safety campaigns and Safety engagement events and activities
  • Develop digital tools to simplify work processes
  • Provide technical assistance regarding health, safety, environmental compliance requirements
  • Develop and administer training and communications to site personnel regarding HSE topics
  • Perform site aspect and impact maturity assessments of the HSE management system
  • Measure key HSE indicators and implement plans to address gaps
  • Support facilities construction projects and maintenance activities


Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Working knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations and experience implementing programs to adhere to HSE regulations
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in the HSE field
  • Strong passion for safety culture and employee engagement
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Strong leadership and team management skills

WE VALUE

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, occupational safety, or science related field
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in computer technology and Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiarity using an HSE reporting software as a solution
  • Safety Campaign Development Experience
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA and Arizona regulations
