Principal BMS & HV Systems Engineer

Volantes Recruitment are recruiting a Principal BMS & High Voltage Systems Engineer for a confidential advanced eVTOL engineering programme.

This is a hands-on technical position focused on battery management, high-voltage architecture, protection and safety-critical control systems.

Key experience required:

🔸 10+ years' BMS, power electronics control or safety-critical embedded systems experience
🔸 Hands-on ownership of BMS architecture
🔸 State-of-charge (SOC) & state-of-health (SOH) estimation
🔸 Cell balancing, fault detection & isolation
🔸 Safe-state definition & contactor control
🔸 High-voltage protection architecture
🔸 Fusing & protection coordination
🔸 Arc-fault / ground-fault detection & isolation monitoring
🔸 Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) & fault-injection testing
🔸 Safety-critical requirements & development assurance
🔸 Technical management of BMS/control system suppliers

Experience within aerospace, electric/hybrid-electric platforms or other highly regulated safety-critical environments would be highly advantageous.
