About A2B Aero

A2B Aero Ltd is a Part 147 Maintenance Training Organisation approved by both the UK CAA and EASA, based at Redhill Aerodrome. We deliver aircraft type training and examinations on Airbus Helicopters types to engineers across the UK and internationally, using a combination of classroom, online and on-aircraft practical instruction.

 The Role

We are looking for an experienced helicopter engineer to join our instructional team as a Type Training Instructor. You will deliver theoretical and practical type training on Airbus Helicopters types within our approved course portfolio, prepare and conduct examinations and assessments, and support the continued development of our course material.

Instruction is delivered at Redhill, online to remote students, and at customer facilities. For a suitably qualified and self-sufficient candidate, the role can be largely home based outside of scheduled course delivery.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver type training courses (theory and practical) on Airbus Helicopters types in accordance with the approved MTOE, course syllabi and Training Needs Analyses.
  • Prepare, review and maintain course material, presentations and practical training documentation.
  • Compile and review examination questions for the question banks within your scope of qualification.
  • Conduct examinations, invigilation and practical assessments in accordance with Part 66 Appendix III and organisational procedures.
  • Maintain accurate training, examination and assessment records for each course delivered.
  • Confirm the currency of training material and technical publications prior to course delivery.
  • Support students throughout the course, identify those requiring additional assistance, and report course feedback to the Training Manager.
  • Maintain your own instructional currency, including updating tuition and continuation training in line with Part 147 requirements.
  • Contribute to internal reviews, audits and the continuous improvement of the training organisation.

 Essential Requirements

  • UK CAA and/or EASA Part 66 licence, category B1 or B2.
  • Type rated on Airbus Helicopters types (e.g. AS350/AS355, AS365, EC120, EC130, EC135, EC145, EC155).
  • A minimum of 10 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Strong written and spoken English and confident presentation skills.
  • Right to work in the UK and willingness to travel to Redhill and customer sites, including occasional overseas travel.
