Aircraft Maintenance Operations Support Internship - 12 month FTC - Biggin Hill
Shorterm Group are currently working with a Global Aerospace client which has the fastest-growing Service Centre in Europe and is one of the largest Aircraft OEM's in the UK. Reporting to Engineering and Stores the Progress Chaser Intern will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of Engineering materials for an aircraft maintenance input, in order to achieve the scheduled aircraft return to service date.
You will assist Engineering Stores with the provisioning of materials in advance of each input, and support the Engineers through the allocation of components for each specific task, Work Order and ATA chapter. The Progress Chaser Intern will attend and participate in meetings pre, post and during each maintenance input, providing regular updates to key stakeholders regarding delivery dates, material shortages and potential delivery issues.
In addition, you will ensure the timely despatch of materials to third party repair vendors, liaising with Repairs for regular updates on anticipated return dates.
The successful candidate will have some experience within aviation engineering logistics, ideally within a Base Maintenance Environment OR someone looking for their 1st opportunity working within a busy MRO environment. You will be flexible, practical and approachable. Excellent attention to detail is essential to this role, as are strong written and verbal skills. You should be highly organised with the ability to process large amounts of data quickly.
Responsibilities: *Coordinate, control and expedite aircraft parts and material supply. *Administration of all types of relevant documentation. *Communication with company carriers, suppliers and Customs agents. *Control of prices and terms of supplied aircraft parts. *Reports preparation and submission. *Supporting the fleet with all spares requirements *Working closely with Vendors to ensure repaired parts are returned in a timely manner *Assisting in monitoring and controlling of the costs of the various services provided. *Liaising with engineering departments to ensure spares requirements for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities are provided for.
