Maintenance Operations Control Manager

Location: Bahrain

Volantes Technical Recruitment are searching for an experienced Maintenance Operations Control Manager to join a leading aviation operator in Bahrain. This role is responsible for coordinating maintenance operations, and ensuring the highest levels of aircraft dispatch reliability through effective planning, defect management, and AOG recovery. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain oversight of and coordinate all AOG aircraft back into service in a safety compliant and efficient manner.
  • Liaise with the Planning Department and Network Operations Control to optimise maintenance decisions relating to schedule changes and resolve conflicts between scheduled maintenance and daily flight operations.
  • Liaise with the Planning Department to ensure all scheduled maintenance is completed in accordance with the Approved Maintenance Programme.
  • Control and progress the timely closure of all carried defects in accordance with the Operator's Minimum Equipment List (MEL), ensuring compliance with MEL limitations.
  • Monitor and control repetitive defects using reliability data and provide troubleshooting support for defect rectification.
  • Manage and control the onboard flyaway kit to reduce service interruptions at outstations and improve technical dispatch reliability.
  • Organise and manage third-party service provider support at outstations and address any service shortfalls.
  • Communicate flight schedules and organise third-party support at outstations where support agreements are in place. In the event of a down-route defect, act as the point of contact with the contracted organisation to return the aircraft to service.
  • Chair and minute the Daily Maintenance Operations Meeting, following up on repetitive defects and open technical issues.
  • Liaise with Type Certificate Holders and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to submit service requests on behalf of the AMO.
  • Liaise with the Materials and Engineering Sections to ensure the provision of materials, tooling and equipment required for deferrals and open technical requests.
  • Liaise with aircraft manufacturers, component manufacturers, and Maintenance and Repair Organisations contracted by DHL Aviation EEMEA BSC (c).
  • Undertake additional projects and any reasonable requests as directed by DHL Management and the Maintenance Manager.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Maintenance Operations Control role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience using My Boeing Fleet, General Electric and Stream applications would be an advantage.
  • Experience with Trax Maintenance Systems or similar maintenance software would be an advantage.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate technical information at all levels.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (B1 and/or B2).
