Job Description

To provide instruction and tutoring as an assistant to an academic teacher in a state facility or university; perform related work.

The successful candidate will provide support to the Aircraft Maintenance Technology program and to the instructors in non-instructional capacities to include: tool control, inventory tracking, facility and equipment maintenance, safety monitoring, purchasing, and administrative support.

This position is not eligible for new visa sponsorship at this time. Candidates who already hold valid U.S. work authorization may be considered.

Key Responsibilities

-Manage tools, parts, and equipment inventory.
-Manage facilities and equipment to include physical security, submitting maintenance/work requests, and facilitating equipment repairs.
-Purchase parts and supplies as needed, and manage P-Card, including keeping financial records.
-Monitor safety in the laboratory, involve the Program Coordinator as needed.
-Maintain and organize program and student records as needed.
-Interact with the public, other ISU employees, vendors, and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in capacities including; answering phones, greeting visitors, coordinating with vendors, scheduling maintenance and deliveries, and assisting with program recruiting efforts.
-Support program instructors as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
 
Some knowledge of:
-Behavioral management as related to an educational environment.

Experience:
-Presenting lesson plans and educational materials to students.
-Working in a group education setting,
-Entering and retrieving data and maintaining records using an automated record system,
-Typing labels, lists, forms and reports,

Supplemental Information

This position at ISU involves the physical ability to bend, stoop, lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds and work in hot and humid environments.

ISU minimum for this classification is $16.75/hour, commensurate with education and experience. To be considered for this opportunity, apply on or before October 5, 2026.
