Mission of Role: Perform safe, compliant, and timely inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and return-to-service work for ICON A5 aircraft. 

Location: Tampa, FL (Local Candidates Only) 

Reports to:   Manager, Service and Maintenance 

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician (A&P) performs aircraft inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and return-to-service activities for ICON A5 aircraft. This position handles complex assignments independently and coordinates with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Service teams when additional support is required. 

Primary Responsibilities:   

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, component replacement, and approved modifications on assigned aircraft. 
• Complete work in accordance with FAA regulations, maintenance manuals, service publications, engineering instructions, and company procedures. 
• Troubleshoot airframe, powerplant, mechanical, electrical, and related aircraft systems using appropriate technical data and test equipment. 
• Remove, install, rig, adjust, and operationally test aircraft components and assemblies. 
• Inspect aircraft and components for discrepancies and coordinate with Engineering or Quality when additional technical direction is required. 
• Complete work orders, inspection forms, maintenance records, and logbook entries accurately and on time.  
• Approve work for return to service within the privileges and limitations of the technician's FAA certificate. 
• Communicate aircraft status, parts requirements, schedule risks, and completion estimates to the manager and service team. 
• Maintain tools, equipment, shop supplies, and calibration status, and follow all safety, housekeeping, hazardous materials, and foreign object damage prevention requirements. 

Success Indicators: 

• Maintenance and inspection work is complete, compliant, and accepted without avoidable rework. 
• Aircraft are returned to service safely and in line with service commitments. 
• Maintenance records, parts documentation, and status updates are accurate and current. 

 Required Experience & Education: 

• Current FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings 
• Three to five years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience, preferably in general aviation or light aircraft 
• Working knowledge of 14 CFR Part 43 and applicable maintenance-record requirements 
• Ability to read and apply maintenance manuals, service publications, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical instructions 
• Ability to troubleshoot aircraft mechanical and electrical systems and safely use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and basic test equipment 
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and coordinate effectively across departments 
• Strong attention to detail and a consistent commitment to safety and workmanship 

Ideal Experience: 

• Light sport, general aviation, or amphibious aircraft maintenance 
• Rotax aircraft engines and modern electronic engine-management systems 
• Electrical and avionics troubleshooting 
• Aircraft assembly, new product introduction, or field service

• Ability to stand for six hours or more, work from ladders and maintenance stands, work from the floor or a floor creeper, and lift up to 40 pounds from floor to chest height 
• Ability to operate and hold hand and power tools for two hours or more and use required personal protective equipment while working in and around aircraft
