We are seeking a Powerplant Engineer to develop minor repairs and alterations for engines and components. Obtain FAA/DER approval for major repair/alteration procedures to ensure efficient and compliant instructions for continued airworthiness. Reporting to the Managing Director, the ideal candidate will assist and provide guidance on repairs and alterations to engines and components; facilities, equipment, and inspection processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct design and analysis of aircraft powerplants, including engine
  • Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and modeling to optimize powerplant performance, efficiency, and reliability
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for proposed powerplant modifications or upgrades
  • Evaluate and interpret test data to ensure compliance with specifications and performance requirements
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and reports
  • Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot powerplant-related issues to identify and implement effective solutions
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Strong familiarity with aerospace industry customers and processes, in-depth understanding of aerospace and defense requirements
  • Possess strong process management and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to process and present technical data to management using statistical tools.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with upper management, peers, and production team members.
  • Direct problem solving skills: search for root cause and addresses issues using industry tools and methodologies
  • Exceptional mechanical aptitude (i.e., intuitive understanding of mechanical processes)
  • Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment
  • Customer quality assurance experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (manufacturing or mechanical is preferred)
  • 5 -7 years of experience managing a certified quality management system preferred
