Are you ready to put your experience to work? If so, Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Aircraft Mechanic 3. The selected candidate will join our team of qualified, diverse individuals, and will be supporting the B-2 modification team at Whiteman AFB, Mo. This position requires a security clearance, so an active clearance is preferred, but a clearance request will be submitted for the selected candidate if necessary. The nature of this position requires individuals to be comfortable working in a classified environment; cell phones and personal electronic devices are prohibited within these areas.
Job Description:
Your duties and responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Perform a variety of operations such as remove/install aircraft engines, electrical wiring, coaxial cables and low observables
Troubleshoots, repairs and services aircraft and engines systems
Interprets and uses various test equipment and works from wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, job guides, and maintenance manuals.
Troubleshoot and accurately diagnose malfunctions to properly identify and correct problems in minimum time
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, job guides, and maintenance manuals
Measures parts with precision tools such as, micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions
Performs maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly, or adjustment of various aircraft systems in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations
May perform similar duties in aircraft build, modification, or maintenance role
Use of appropriate PPE when working on the shop floor.
The selected candidate must be willing to work various shifts depending on business needs, including, but not limited to: 1st shift 0630 – 1500, 2nd shift 1430 – 2300 and overtime when required.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience in manufacturing/production.
Able to meet the physical demands of this position, including: regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist
Must be able to pass a physical/respiratory evaluation to obtain and maintain necessary respirator clearance and compliance with all respirator fitting requirements
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Secret clearance is required prior to starting
Must be able to obtain required Program Access within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet business needs
Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include second shift, extended shifts, weekends, and occasional holidays to support modification team work
Preferred Qualifications:
Active DOD Secret Clearance with an investigation date/periodic review within the last 6 years
Completion of A&P certificate program or Associates degree in an applicable field
Strong interpersonal communication skills with ability to work with others at all levels of the organization
Previous composite, manufacturing, or production experience.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Willingness to meet customer needs
Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence
