Every flight school is different and each student learns at a different rate, but full time students can expect to train to become a helicopter pilot within roughly 2 years.
Before committing to any flight school, make sure you have a full understanding of what is required. Asking for case studies on previous students may give you some indication into how long the process will take. For example, if you need to complete additional hours or resit exams, how long has this taken previous students?
The number of flight hours required by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) differs between private and commercial licences (45 hours for private and at least 150 hours for commercial). This may also affect how long the process takes.
