Morson Talent are currently seeking a WCM Deputy Manager on a Permanent basis to be based at RNAS Yeovilton in Somerset.
The Wildcat Contracted Maintenance (WCM) team is based at RNAS Yeovilton and provides engineering and ground support to the 1 Regiment Army Air Corps, flying training squadron. This is a rare opportunity to apply for the Deputy Manager role within this multi-disciplined, multi-shift, forward engineering team. Established for a little over seven years, WCM have received several accolades for the provision of a particularly high-flying output with this comparatively juvenile helicopter.
The (WCM) Deputy Manager is responsible to the WCM Manager for the day to day engineering management of WCM at RNAS Yeovilton. The position exists to provide a high level of support across the engineering, technical and personnel management arena and assists in providing assurance that all flying and operating requirements are met to the satisfaction of the WCM Manager, the WMS Aircraft Provision Manager (APM) and the Military Customer.
The Deputy Manager will act as the senior WCM representative in the Manager's absence. She / He will hold MAM(P) Engineering Authorisations at Level B, C, D, E, F, G and H, plus levels G and J Airworthiness Authorisations, authorised by the Level K, form 4 holding APM to provide direct and indirect support on all engineering and airworthiness matters.
Liaising with both internal and external agencies, the deputy Manager will attend Operational Planning, Production, CAMO and Data exploitation Meetings as necessary. They will also be involved in the recruitment, interviewing and development of engineering and ground handling personnel.
He/She will assist the WCM Manager in promoting and maintaining high engineering standards across all trades and disciplines and all aircraft related issues which affect airworthiness and availability. This will include the management of all WCM engineering activities, including quality of engineering output, Fleet Management and Maintenance Plans alongside the planning and co-ordinating of Forward Servicing Packages, Modification Programmes and other significant Scheduled and Unscheduled Maintenance Activities. The Deputy Manager will also have a detailed understanding of current MOD Fault Reporting mechanisms (Serious Fault Reports, MF760, MF765 etc) as well as ASIMS (DASORs) and an appreciation of Health and Safety mandated Legislation.
In line with other management support activity, the WCM Deputy Manager will retain oversight of, and co-ordinate the activities of both WCM shifts to meet customer requirements at all times. He/ She will use GOLDesp to monitor maintenance and availability plans on a weekly basis and ensure that all aircraft-related activities are properly subjected to the WMS Quality Management System including any input to external audits
The Deputy Manager will liaise with both internal and external agencies such as the Wildcat Delivery Team (WDT) LH Front Desk, JHC and the RNAS AED and will attend Operational Planning, Production, CAMO and Data exploitation Meetings as necessary. By exploiting statistical management tools such as GOLDesp and ASR+, He/ She will be responsible for the compilation and upkeep of Authority / LH performance and availability data.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The candidate should have a detailed understanding of all aspects of aircraft engineering, maintenance planning and documentation, preferably in a military environment. He / She should hold a minimum of HNC level (or equivalent) qualification in an aviation related subject and have a minimum of 5 years' experience as an artificer or civilian equivalent. They should be able to demonstrate appropriate management experience and have held and exercised the previously detailed MAM-P authorisation levels to provide the signatory role when completing aircraft documentation.
