Workshop Supervisor

JMC Recruitment are currently working with a leading MRO Organisation who are looking to add a Workshop Supervisor to their close knit, highly skilled team.  This is a permanent role based in Chester.

As an experienced Component Maintenance engineer of which you will also be employed as a certifying engineer, you will be expected to control all daily activities within the component back shops and ensure that all component maintenance is carried out safely, efficiently, and to all customer and company requirements.

The successful Workshop Supervisor will be able to demonstrate the below skills and attributes:

Essential Experience: 

• Must have experience of Aircraft Component Repairs
• Must have experience of Aircraft Interior Soft and Hard Furnishings
• Must have experience of Aircraft Metal Structure Repairs
• Experience in generating task time estimates
• Excellent understanding of Part 145, Part 21G and company procedures
• Experience in using aircraft technical documentation.
• Strong IT skills – including MS Office programmes (desirable)
• Experience of Aircraft Composite Repairs (desirable) 

Essential Qualifications – Technical, Vocational or educational:

• HNC in an Engineering Discipline
• HND in Aeronautical Engineering (desirable)
• SMS (Safety Management System) Training (desirable) 

Essential Attributes:

• Be self-motivated, very organised and have a high level of attention to detail
• Have a passion for customer satisfaction
• Be able to multitask and work well under pressure in a fast-moving environment
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

As a Workshop Supervisor, main duties will include:

Supervisory:

• Co-ordination of all staff allocated to their control within their work area, provide briefings, guidance and support as necessary to deliver assigned daily work plan
• Ensure Team compliance with Department Procedures and H&S requirements
• Lead by example through behaviour and as a practicing engineer carrying out hands on tasks as and when time allows

Commercial:

• Monitoring Fitter/Technician time on task
• Ensure that all quotes and task estimates are submitted in a timely manner
• Ensure all requirements for tooling /equipment are identified and submitted for Budget approval
• Ensure paperwork records all parts usage and detailed task breakdown to justify task times

Certifying Engineer:

• At request of the business, obtain and exercise full ‘C’ rating approvals for all ratings within the Workshops Bays, and ‘Form 1’ certification, thereby providing maximum contribution
• To perform and certify component maintenance IAW Technical Documentation and Company Procedures
• Certifying own work and that of others within their team and within scope of approvals held
• Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner. All paperwork to be signed by end of shift
• Creation and control of workshops technical instructions and approval of process work cards
