Our client is based in Middlesex and overhauls aircraft wheels and brakes. They are now seeking additional contractors to cover the upcoming summer season.
Estimated contract dates are from now until 30th September 2019.
Responsibilities will include:
Read and comply with Work Instructions, Component Maintenance Manuals (C.M.M.), Operating Procedures and Customer Spec. requirements.
Demonstrate Knowledge and understanding of Process Paperwork and Parts Control
Disassembly of aircraft Wheels
Dismount of aircraft tyres
Cleaning of aircraft wheels by operation of wheel wash equipment
Cleaning of aircraft wheel small parts
Paint stripping of aircraft wheels
Inspection of aircraft wheel small parts
Preassembly inspection and assembly of aircraft wheel hub
Mounting of aircraft tyre
Disassembly of aircraft brake housings
Disassembly of aircraft brake heatstacks
Cleaning of aircraft brake small parts
Operation of steel shot blast machine
Operations of aluminium oxide blast machine
Pressure testing aircraft brake assemblies
Know and understand risk assessments associated with task, including any Task Risk Assessment or CoSHH Assessment referenced in the WI.
Works accurately and efficiently on individual assignments or as an active team member. Performs job duties on various shifts in response to customer needs.
English and Math GCSE or equivalent
Degree or BTEC in Aerospace Engineering or similar highly desirable
Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and technical publications to perform duties in compliance with customer requirements.
General knowledge of a workshop environment.
Knowledge and experience with personal computer systems.
Experience in TQ environment desirable.
4 on, 4 off shift. 06:30-18:30.
Pay Rate £9.05 per hour, increasing to £10.76 after 12 weeks (overtime paid at basic rate in first 12 weeks and then enhanced rate from week 13 onwards).
Drug Screening required
5 Years' referencing will be carried out for successful candidates
Proactive attitude and willingness to listen and learn will outweigh any previous wheels & brakes work experience.
