The Vice President of Investment Strategy role is new to the Atlantic Aviation organization. This role will report to the Senior Vice President of Business Development and will have responsibility for developing, managing, and executing on Atlantic’s M&A strategy and growth capital pipeline. Since 2004, Atlantic has deployed over $2.0 billion in growth capital investments and M&A, building the portfolio from 14 locations to 70 locations over that period. Going forward, Atlantic expects to deploy ~$100 million per annum in a variety of growth capex projects, lease extensions, and acquisitions.

The VP Investment Strategy will take day-to-day responsibility for managing ongoing growth projects from a financial perspective, as well as planning and tracking key process milestones. This individual will play a lead role in building commercial and financial investment cases for new growth capital and M&A projects, conducting thorough due diligence, and developing Atlantic’s broader inorganic growth strategy. In addition, the VP Investment Strategy will support the rest of the business development team in identifying opportunities and managing commercial negotiations with key counterparties. This executive should be technically excellent and maintain attention to detail, with an ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the business and with shareholders.

Responsibilities

* Lead day-to-day development of growth capital investment cases and M&A transactions, including, but not limited to, building investment theses and detailed business plans, as well as participating in transaction structuring, negotiation, and documentation
* Assist the SVP Business Development and other business development team members in appropriately managing commercial, operational and financial risks associated with growth capital and M&A opportunities, including by appropriately scoping and managing diligence efforts and by monitoring commercial and financial developments on ongoing investment projects
* Direct and supervise financial analysis and valuation methodologies used to evaluate potential growth capital projects, leveraging a wide variety of sophisticated techniques such as DCF and SOTP valuation with complicated tax and financing structures
* Alongside the SVP and VP Business Development and as part of the BD team, evaluate and continue to develop a detailed database of acquisition targets, develop and implement a system to prioritize growth capital investments, and maintain a detailed database of upcoming lease expiries
* Proactively engage with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, including senior and junior members of the business development team, additional members of the Atlantic Aviation management team, vendors, counterparties and shareholders
* Support the company’s budgeting and business planning processes, including by setting appropriate growth capital targets and developing a multi-year probability-weighted pipeline

Qualifications

* 5+ years’ experience in a business development, commercial, or investment role in a corporation with a large growth capital program or in a transaction-focused role in the financial services industry

* Strong financial background and advanced analytical skills with experience developing and presenting investment cases, including developing detailed DCF valuations with complex financing and tax structures
* Experience managing acquisitions or other large growth capital investments and developing commercial and financial investment cases as well as identifying, assessing and communicating risks associated with these opportunities
* Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification; demonstrated quantitative aptitude
* Experience outlining and managing a multi-year growth capital program preferred
* Familiarity with the general aviation industry, and with FBO operations in particular, while not required, is beneficial
* Able and willing to travel
