Job Summary
EXECUTIVE LEADER/VICE PRESIDENT OF AVIONICS MANUFACTURING

General Atomics is one of the world’s leading resources for high-technology systems development ranging from the nuclear fuel cycle to remotely piloted aircraft, airborne sensors, and advanced electric, electronic, wireless and laser technologies.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Manufacturing, the Vice President of Avionics Manufacturing will direct with a high degree of autonomy, lead and provide focus and guidance for a growing staff of 575 to achieve strategic goals that directly drive our growing market business demands.

We are searching for a strategic Leader who strives for excellence, leads by trust, energized by new challenges, innovation and continuous improvement to enhance the capabilities of the organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Design, implement and oversee the planning, production scheduling and management of manufacturing operations to achieve business, safety, quality and financial objectives.
* Exercise a broad level of collaboration and partnership with Engineering, various Manufacturing groups and Facilities to execute Company objectives for Avionics Manufacturing.
* Drives change transformation, strategy execution and develops long-term plans that impacts achievement of business results.
* Develops comprehensive site capital and maintenance budgets consistent with business plans.
* Manages staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach to achieve business goals.
* Oversee the implementation of lean principles; ensure all operations are monitored for regulatory and safety compliance.

Job Qualifications

* Typically requires a Bachelors’ degree in business administration, engineering or a related discipline and fifteen or more years of progressively complex manufacturing experience with a least eleven of those years managing manufacturing operations. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
* Comprehensive leadership skills; creating a great culture of commitment, trust, authenticity and bottom line results.
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma process improvements.
* Must have a detailed and comprehensive understanding of the principles, concepts, theories, and practices of manufacturing operations; extensive experience demonstrating a broad application of operations practices, techniques and standards.
* Must possess ability to resolve complex management and technical problems and demonstrated ability introduce automation and new technologies.
* Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence while exercising sensitivity when necessary.
* US citizenship required.
