Typhoon Logistics Advisor
Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
The HQ RSAF Typhoon Logistics Advisor exists to provide professional advice and assistance to the RSAF Typhoon Support Manager (TyWSSM) on all Typhoon maintenance and support operations, capability insertions and the development of practical, progressive and innovative maintenance and support solutions. The job holder will also be the Senior Salam CMS Executive in HQ RSAF with administrative management responsibilities for all HQ RSAF Salam CMS staff.

Providing advice and assistance with respect to the Typhoon in a timely and effective manner, on the following:
Tactical and strategic in-service support issues.
Future Support Strategy including the development and introduction of innovative maintenance/logistics practices.
Maintenance policy management.
Administration Management for all RSAF HQ CMS staff
Coordinating and interfacing with the Saudi Typhoon Support Centre (TSC) and BAES Salam staff as required.
Management of the Safety Management Systems as directed by HQRSAF policy with regards to all RSAF Typhoon maintenance & Logistic activities.
Management of the Quality Assurance System as directed by HQRSAF policy with regards to all RSAF Typhoon maintenance & Logistic activities.
With regards to future capability the job holder will be responsible for planning, tasking, integrating, monitoring and applying the efforts of the HQRSAF Typhoon Support Team (TyWSST) and TSC.
In consultation with relevant HQRSAF ops, training and logistics staffs, preparing logistic support input to requirements and programme management documentation, including statements of work and requests for proposals will also be role accountability.
Assisting the TyWSSM in the development of the RSAF's requirements for the Typhoon Support contracts as well as monitoring the analytical efforts of TST and TSC, to assist the development and refinement of future support concepts and policies.
The job holder will also be coordinating the TST's and TSC's support to the Directorate of Aeronautical Engineering with regards to Typhoon Engineering Authority activity.
The job holder will manage effective and efficient office procedures as well as accompanying RSAF officers to briefings and meetings.
The HQ RSAF Logistics Advisor will have completed a recognised course of training or an apprenticeship at a military or civilian school in Aeronautical Engineering or related technology and will have extensive experience in operational logistics and / or training.
The job holder should have been an engineering officer of at least squadron leader rank and have operational experience of fast jet combat operations, preferably having held the position of Senior Engineering Officer.
Ideally the candidate will have worked in a number of relevant staff appointments with responsibility for either developing or applying HQ engineering policy, preferably in both the training and logistics manning functions.
As a minimum, an appropriate First Degree or HND qualification, or equivalent is essential.
Experience in the design, development, commissioning and acceptance of projects and availability or performance-based contracts would be a distinct advantage.
The HQ RSAF Logistics Advisor will be relied upon to propose, initiate and monitor a range of Maintenance and Engineering Support activities. Otherwise, a significant proportion of the task will be reacting to RSAF requirements; as well as this the HQ RSAF Logistics Advisor will be required to prepare correspondence, projects, presentations and technical reports to RSAF managers (up to and including 2* Officers) for review and onward transmission.
When appropriate, the jobholder may be required to assist in formal presentations and briefings to a range of internal and external agencies as required as well as providing statistical support to as required.
The incumbent will attend KSA and UK -based formal and informal meetings with associated HQ RSAF Directorates and RSAF Bases and may be required to lead those meetings. The job holder must also be able to accurately capture and produce meeting notes, and facilitate meetings as required.
The incumbent must have a military background, preferably ex-UK Royal Air Force Engineering Officer, with a proven ability to develop, manage and deliver successful and innovative change programmes at a strategic level. With experience of the military operational air environment and associated logistics support models, the job holder must also have an extensive knowledge and experience of military maintenance and engineering establishment processes; specific knowledge of the RSAF engineering establishment process would be particularly useful.
The incumbent should have strong technical and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to facilitate, mediate and influence in diverse military and civilian cultures. Computer literacy is essential, with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project required. The role holder should also have a detailed knowledge of regulations and standards relating to maintenance and engineering in both KSA and the UK.
