Training manager Svenskt Ambulansflyg

 

The Swedish national air ambulance organization, Kommunalförbundet Svenskt Ambulansflyg (KSA), is looking for an experienced Training manager to join the team.

About KSA

Kommunalförbundet Svenskt Ambulansflyg (KSA) is a national organization formed, mutually owned and financed by all twenty-one (21) regions in Sweden. The purpose of KSA is to increase patient services and safety by making air ambulance more effective through coordination and coordinated use of common resources. KSA is currently establishing an AOC for the purpose of operating a fleet of six PC-24 air ambulance aircraft for the Swedish regions. The aircraft will be based at Umeå (ESNU), Stockholm/Arlanda (ESSA) and Gothenburg/Landvetter (ESGG) airport together with flight crew, medical- and maintenance staff.

The planned start of operations is 2021.

Job description

The Training manager (TM) is the nominated person crew training. The TM reports to the DFO and shall manage all crew training and checking. The TM is in charge of the training department and is responsible for, amongst others:

  1. Establishing, maintaining and continuously improving procedures, standards and policies for training and checking 

  2. Ensuring that all training syllabi, compendiums, and training aids are produced in accordance with regulations and company standards

  3. Ensure that all crew training and checking are conducted safely and in compliance with all applicable regulations,

  4. Supervision of crew training and checking and TRI/TRE qualifications,

  5. Planning all crew training and checking activities as ordered by the DFO,

The TM will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining training programs for flight nurses and flight coordination center dispatchers together with respective department manager.

The role of TM is a part-time flying role with flying duties not expected to exceed 50%.

Requirements

For the position as TM you must be a highly motivated and goal-driven person who will report to, and work closely with, the Director of Flight Operations. 

Furthermore, you must have:

  • A valid EASA ATPL

  • A TRI/TRE rating

  • Previous experience as a nominated person crew training or Head of training, with a minimum of 3 years in the position.

  • Previous experience of setting up a new training department or ATO in accordance with EC/EASA regulations.

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of EC, EASA and national regulations

  • International flight operations experience with extensive knowledge and experience of winter operations within the Scandinavian region.

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in establishing training manuals, programs and procedures.

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of safety management and risk assessments

  • Excellent English language skills (both verbal and written) 

  • Fluent in a Scandinavian language

  • Proficient in MS Office application

Additional preferred skills

  • Previous experience of air ambulance operations

  • Previous experience of FSTD evaluations

As a person you are structured, goal orientated and communicative. You enjoy working in teams as well as working independently towards deadlines. You are a problem solver and you make things happen. The KSA team is small and we work closely together, especially during the start-up phase of the project. We will put a lot of weight into your interpersonal skills and how we feel you will fit into our team.
