LGS Innovations, a leader in solving the most complex networking and communications challenges, is seeking a Sr. Technical Manager - Advanced Filter Technology for our Albuquerque, NM location.
Will lead all advanced RF filter design and development, New Product Introduction (NPI), production operations and site management of the facility. In addition, will take a leadership position in implementing AS9100 quality system at the site, as well as developing, selecting and implementing leading edge 5G RF technology, and will lead the equipment and facilities expansion efforts of the Advanced Filter Technology (AFT) business unit. Scope will span all aspects of the AFT business unit, to include ceramic RF filter design, new product and process introduction, as well as supporting the technical and financial objectives of the AFT group.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Provide vision, leadership and direction in the development of LGS strategic initiatives to address the emerging 5G Wireless communications standards
Foster an entrepreneurial culture by leading and developing a team grounded in strong work ethic, dedication, and passion for intellectual curiosity
Provide overall site leadership and direction for the AFT Business Group
Design and production staff leadership and oversight, to include selection, performance management, career development, and workload management
Provide leadership and direction as an active member of the Product Solutions senior staff in the development of strategic initiatives and support of the Sr. Technical Director of Product Solutions
Drive AFT AS9100 initiatives and quality objectives
Lead and support equipment and facilities expansion
Implement process capability monitoring and improvement, to include the use of Cp & CpK
Provide direction in problem solving, product or process characterization, process efficiency improvements and continuous improvement activities
Drive optimization of products for improved manufacturability, cycle time and cost reductions
Work with design team to develop processes and deliver prototype ceramic components for evaluation and proof of concept purposes
Work with engineering to negotiate product specifications and print acceptance criteria
Responsible for all aspects of the site budgets, schedules and resource planning
Travel to other LGS Locations or customer sites, as necessary
Understand and adhere to all LGS Ethical and Compliance policies
Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to LGS EH&S policies and procedures
Perform other duties, as required
Able to obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level required to perform the job
Minimum Qualifications: Skills and Knowledge:
Skilled in applying analytical tools and statistical techniques
Highly self-motived with the ability to drive projects to completion
Strong oral and written presentation skills
Ability to lead, as well as work independently in a team environment
Experience in the development of new product from drawing to production
Thorough knowledge of statistical tools such as Mini Tab, JMP, gage capability, and DOE
Knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other software applications, as required
In depth knowledge of ceramics or materials science and ceramic manufacturing processes preferred
Green belt or black belt certification preferred
Minimum Education and Experience:
B.S. degree in Engineering, or related discipline, and 8 – 10 years’ experience in a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education, skills and experience
Strong leadership skills, with a minimum 6 years’ direct personnel management
Preferred Qualifications: N8:N9
There is no clearance requirement to begin employment. However, as a requirement of continued employment in this position you will be required to obtain a Secret clearance.
