Leonardo Helicopters has a contract with the Norwegian Ministry of Justice and Public Security to supply and support the new AW101 Norwegian All Weather Search And Rescue Helicopter (NAWSARH). As part of this programme, the company have established a multi-discipline in-country liaison team.

The in-country liaison team shall be responsible for the coordination and delivery of Integrated Logistical Support (ILS) elements on behalf of the company to ensure Search And Rescue (SAR) Helicopter availability.

We are looking for an experienced aircraft technician to fill the role of Technical Officer at the Orland SAR Base Norwegian branch. Accountable to the Maintenance Manager, you will be the Leonardo Helicopters point of contact at the SAR Base in relation to all technical matters. You will work closely with both the Royal Norwegian Air Force (RNORAF) maintenance and operations personnel, encouraging integration and a one-team approach in the day to day operation of the SAR Helicopter. You will be expected to assist with all elements of fault diagnostics both on and off the SAR Helicopter.

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required

  • Applicable technical qualification such as a formal apprenticeship.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience of which at least 2 years with relevant multi-engine helicopters.
  • Remain flexible and responsive to short notice customer requirements.
  • Be self-motivated and able to work on own initiative as well as within larger teams.
  • Possess effective coaching, counselling and team building skills and be able to motivate staff.
  • Possess good communication skills .
  • Confidently handle challenging conversations. Listen, understand and respect different views and ways of working.
  • IT literate with all basic desktop applications and company standard software.
  • Integrity and professional approach.
  • Be fluent in both Norwegian and English.
  • Possess business and commercial awareness.
