JOB TITLE AIRCRAFT WINDOW REPAIR TEAM LEAD

DEPARTMENT AIRCRAFT WINDOW SERVICES

SUPERVISOR AIRCRAFT WINDOW REPAIR PROGRAM MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY

This hourly, non-exempt position is a window repair specialized aircraft service involving good sanding skills and great patience. Knowledge of Aircraft Window Repair techniques and processes is necessary. Team Lead will primarily work on repairing aircraft windows in this position. Team Lead will train and work directly with Aircraft Window Repair Program Manager to complete as much window repair as possible per day/week. May require travel up to one week at a time nationally and internationally. Must be able to complete internal company work orders in accordance with company guidelines. Job duties will vary each day and will encompass projects as designated by the Aircraft Window Repair Program Manager. Team Lead will manage the window repair project start to finish and will be responsible for the Techs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Repair aircraft acrylic windows full-time

Manage the Window Repair Technicians

Train and study aircraft window repair.

Complete quality window repairs on aircraft at West Star Aviation and other facilities.

Tape and prepare aircraft for window repair.

Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

5 years plus in acrylic window repair full-time position.

Working around aircraft a plus.

High physical labor production a plus.

Initiative

Self-motivated and able to maintain a rapid pace.

Process work without supervision.

Manage other window technicians

Maintain neat and clean job site.

Have great patience.

Be detail oriented and great organizational skills.

Responsibility

Complete Quality aircraft window repairs at a high production level

Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.

Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.

Maintain a positive customer service environment.

Contacts

Airframe Team Leader and Team Leaders of other departments assigned to multiple aircraft.

Aircraft Window Repair Program Manager, Department Managers, Director of Maintenance andGeneral Manager.

Customers or outside vendors.

Physical Requirements

Lift at least 50 lbs.

Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting.

Routing or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.

Agile hands and fingers.

Mental Requirements

perform detail-oriented hands-on work.

Have great patience to complete work.

Work with others in a professional manner.

Supervision

Will work under supervision of the Aircraft Window Repair Program Manager.

Working Conditions

The work will be accomplished in both a hangar environment and office environment.

Varied positions in and around the aircraft.

Equipment Used

Dual action sanders provided by West Star.

Hand sanding tools provided by West Star.

Any other specialized equipment required to perform job will be provided by West Star.
