As the Systems Project Engineer in the Test Equipment department within Aircraft Group, you are responsible for the development of complex electrohydraulic, electromechanical, hydromechanical, mechanical and electropneumatic test systems that will be used to test products of Moog, Inc. The incumbent, a fully trained professional, plans and conducts efforts requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Typically, the Systems Project Engineer devises new approaches for the problems encountered.

You can expect to:

Key contributor to the requirements development, analysis, conceptual design, development, and testing of complex control hardware used in test equipment for aircraft actuators.

*

Operate as part of a design/development team, which includes other Department engineers with his/her primary concern being system or component performance and integration.

*

Coordinate the work of drafters, technicians, design analysts, engineers and others who assist in specific assignments as needed.

*

Consult with the customer, establish the problem statement, conceive of potential hardware solutions to the problem, often through extensive trade studies, and then create a successful technical proposal.

*

Guide the evolution of the requirements and the conceptual design, technical project planning, detail design, and development testing.

*

Requires occasional travel and the organization of presentations to customers.

To be considered for this position you’ll need the following:

*

Minimum of a BS Degree plus 5 years of design/development engineering experience.

*

Preferred PhD or MS Degree plus 3 years of design/development engineering experience.

*

Preferred experience with Test Equipment and System testing.

*

Experience with cross-functional engineering development teams.

*

Seasoned knowledge of closed-loop control systems and mechanical hardware designs.

*

Strong communication skills with self-starting instincts and strong analytical skills.
