The Leidos Innovations Center has an exciting opening for you, our next System Integration Engineer, to assist with the design, deployment, and maintenance of the DOMEX Data Discovery Platform (D3P) full stack containerized microservices architecture in Reston, VA.

The DOMEX Data Discovery Platform (D3P) program is a next generation machine learning pipeline platform that will provide cutting edge data enrichment, triage, and analytics capabilities to Defense and Intelligence Community members. D3P will advance the state of the art in mission-focused big data analytics tools and micro-service development spanning the breadth of Agile sprints to multiyear research and development cycles.

This candidate will serve a vital role to provide technical, strategic guidance and application development on the development and implementation of data models in support of the customer’s mission. This engineer will manage and maintain current data feeds in addition to identifying and engineering solutions to bring additional data sets online, and integrate new releases in multiple environments.

You will work closely with the chief architect, systems engineers, software and data engineers, and data scientists on the following key tasks:
• Provides technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environments, high-level systems analysis, design, integration, documentation and implementation advice on exceptionally complex problems that need extensive knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation.
• Participates as needed in all phases of software development with emphasis on the planning, analysis, integration, and documentation phases
• Manage the code transfer and modification from D3P to D3P -S environment
• Conduct automated unit and system integration tests to identify and feedback failed modules and components
• Participate in code design reviews and updates
• Support CM activities
• Design system to system data transfer and integration process from the D3P system to the D3P – S systems
• Create test plans to verify data quality and integrity between systems the systems during the transfer process
• At all levels from component (module), integration testing through system to include and end-to-end (data lifecycle) evaluation

To be successful in this role you need these skills (required):
• Requires BS degree and 6 + years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience
• Experience in system integrations testing through a full system development life cycle, including implementing test plans, test cases and test processes
• A strong working knowledge of computer / operating systems, i.e. Linux and Windows, Docker, Elastics, Active Directory, AWS, VMWare, Rancher, Kubernetes and Kafka
• Ability to create, evaluate and edit scripts with Python
• Ability to evaluate service integration tools such as Jenkins, Salt and GitLab
• Experience with security requirements derivation
• Experience documenting test results for corrective actions, reporting and audits
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a team and also a self-starter who can work on their own

It would be great if you have specific experiences and skills with the following (preferred):
• Conduct automated integration test with synthetic or real data
• Ability to evaluate the systems from security point of view to ensure security relevant changes are made to the data before it is transferred to a different classification network
• Design data security checks to ensure dirty data is not passed to other networks
• Create unit and system integration tests to identify and feedback failed modules and components
• Evaluate test reports determining if software changes need to be made
• An active TS clearance with eligibility to obtain an SCI
