My client is an innovative and entrepreneurial team of experts, involved in the development of clean and quiet electric propulsion aircraft.

As part of their ongoing success and growth, they are now seeking a Systems Engineer Team Leader to join their team in Switzerland on a permanent basis.  As the Systems Engineer Team Leader, you will manage the System Engineering team. You will report directly to the Head of Design Organisation.

 
Main responsibilities:

· Coordinating, performing, and sustaining the team’s development activities required to support certification, production and installation of electric propulsion systems

· Creates and maintains development project schedules, resource assignments, and budgets. This includes the establishment of development and certification milestones required to complete projects.

· Develops and defines the system-level design concepts that meet customers’ needs

· Support all levels of requirements management (definition, development and verification)

· Manage all engineering disciplines needed to develop system requirements and architectures and establish systems capabilities and operational concepts

· Manage system engineering development activities including system architecture, specification development, requirement definition and allocation, performance analysis and simulation, system modeling and simulation tool development, support to hardware design, manufacturing, integration, bench, ground and flight test

· Conducts reviews of design data, analyses and test procedures pertaining to the development of new designs, methods, materials and reports to ensure technical maturity and compliance with regulatory and customer requirements. Reviews entail advanced engineering principles, company standards, and procedures. Determines required actions and performs follow-up activities.

· Review of drawings and reports to ensure conformity to established internal or external standards. As required, checks for document clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications. Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies. Directs revisions and improvements to engineers.

· Provides leadership, trains, and mentors the development of the engineers. Ensures his/her team is current and trained. Coordinating, performing, and sustaining development activities of his team required to support certification, production and installation of aircraft electronic equipment

 

Ideal Candidate profile:

The ideal candidate will a strategic thinker with a proven ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast changing environment. Specifically, this includes:

· University degree (min. Bachelor) in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. System Engineering,

Aerospace Engineering, Power Electronics, Energy Systems)

· Thorough knowledge of the involved engineering disciplines 

· Proven experience and expertise as team leader typically 5+ years with experience of mentoring and coaching team members and capable of interacting with people from diverse backgrounds and skillsets

· Good understanding of aviation standards in the field of activity (SAE ARP 4754; SAE ARP 4761; ASTM; DO-160 / ED-14)

· Resource management skills

· Basic understanding of EASA Part 21, EASA Certification Specifications and certification principles

· Demonstrated ability to follow through and bring projects to completion

· Target-oriented, with analytic problem-solving capabilities

· Well organised including the ability to properly document

· Capacity to prioritize, manage time effectively and multi-task

· Good communication skills

· Fluency in English (oral and written), French an asset

· Candidates must already hold the right to live and work in Europe prior to application
