Job Summary

We are looking for an Entry Level Systems Engineer with a passion for engineering, a high degree of accountability, and ability to thrive in a team environment as a part of the Program Systems team in the Business and Regional Avionics organization. A wide variety of systems engineering tasks will be required as the programs continue through their various development and testing phases, extensive flight test campaigns and certification activities. This position includes the opportunity to interface with the various product domains and be their voice to our customers. Our advanced ProLine Fusion avionics systems continues to present exciting new engineering challenges and opportunities every day for our teams here at Collins Aerospace. Someone who thrives under pressure, thinks of innovative solutions to problems, and can make sense out of chaos will excel in this position.

Job Responsibilities
* Conducts technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and other analyses.
* Collects data and performs standard analysis of data, identifying findings as appropriate.
* Conducts engineering processes using standard work, including verification and qualification procedures.
* Seeks to identify possible problems presented in applicable projects that may cause a delay or exceed budget. Contributes to finding appropriate solutions.
* Performs analysis at all levels of the total system product including concept, design, fabrication, modeling, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
* • Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
* Considers and evaluates alternatives accounting for similar metrics.
* Manages configuration process, performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
* Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
* Performs architectural exploration.
* Decomposes customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements, and generates verification criteria and plans for the requirements.
* Communicate both orally and written with other engineers, technicians, pilots and management

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, similar related degree
* Prior related work experience (co-ops, internships, professional)
* Understanding of avionics certification DO-160, ARP-4754A, DO-178B/C

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline
