Job Description

Purpose:

* Install the application software, and/or updates and fixes provided by the vendor.

* Build, set up, install, and maintain computer hardware according to Mesa Air policies, procedures, and standards.

* Analyze the operation of the computer hardware (desktop/laptop) to determine the root cause of malfunctions. Implement repairs as necessary.

* Assist with Help Desk Response calls

* Work with System Administrator to help identify and analyze information security breaches; repair or remediate systems to stop the problem

* Work with outside vendors for Company required hardware and software purchases and acquisition

Essential Functions:

Skills

* Ability to follow company procedure accurately and completely.

* Ability to accurately complete purchasing paperwork and keep good records

* Ability to work with System Administrators in making complicated software configuration changes without damaging the application or network's ability to function

* Ability to test/trouble-shoot and analyze desktop/laptop and operating software.

* Ability to perform basic computer hardware installations

* Maintain and follow procedures as defined in the IT Policies and Procedures document

* Ability to manage a constant flow of small tasks without falling behind

* Ability to identify root cause of the security incident

* Excellent skills in MS Word and Excell

* Ability to work in team environment or independently with minimal supervision

* Detail oriented and able to keep accurate records of company computer

* Ability to research and define clear and effective selection criteria for technology.

* Ability to determine when there is a need for outside services

Knowledge

* Understanding of corporate systems architecture (operating systems, software, etc.)

* Responsibilites

* Build, install, test and troubleshoot workstations/laptop hardware and software, according to company policies, standards, and specifications. Maintain accurate inventory records in asset tracking system

* Act as a secondary interface to users, accepting Help Desk requests. Create/Maintain/Delete/Train User identifications and profiles for Company used systems as directed by the owner of the information

* Be on-call after hours on a regularly scheduled basis.

* Monitor and Test system performance, making adjustments to workstation to ensure optimum performance.

* Maintain kiosk software and hardware

* Understanding of configuration and patch management methodology and strategy

* Extensive knowledge of desktop, laptop computers, peripherals and printers -- including set-up, installation and repair

* Familiar with standard security policies and procedures

* Familiarity and general knowledge of information technology strategies and infrastructure

* Knowledge of standard corporate purchasing policies and procedures

* Knowledge of application operating system

* Two or Four year college/technical school degree in computer field

* Experience dealing with hardware equipment and service vendors.

* Experience with the Help Desk Software and Support in a 24x7 computing environment requiring 100% uptime

* One year experience documenting business processes and IT systems

*Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
