Structural and Systems Engineers

Develops, integrates and manages product/program lifecycle support activities to include support system analysis, spares, provisioning, technical data, training maintenance/modifications, support equipment and facilities. Establishes support requirement definitions. Develops program implementation/integration plans and schedules. Monitors execution of support programs. Reviews program and engineering change proposals and assesses sustainment impact. Coordinates and gathers data for estimates in support of proposal activities.


JOB DESCRIPTION: MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To conduct root cause analysis of aircraft technical problems/defects which may cause aircraft groundings and to initiate the remedial actions including the implementation of service bulletins and manufacturer/vendors recommendations. To ensure that all required maintenance is carried out within specified timescales in the most cost-effective manner and that technical dispatch reliability is constantly improved through a robust reliability programme.

Monitor the engine performance through EHM software and to conduct root cause analysis of engine problems and initiate the remedial actions.
Ensure technical support is provided for Maintenance and Operation teams to assure airworthiness and reliability of aircraft systems and related equipment as appropriate. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB Review OEM’s and Vendors technical literature like SBs, SLs, FTDs etc. including Airworthiness directives and issue the necessary Engineering Orders/Engineering Procedures. Establish a system within technical services section to liaise with OEMs for guidance on issues like aircraft structural damages which are beyond scope of maintenance data supplied by manufacturer. Ensure the daily operational follow up in relation to engineering research and strive for improvement of the aircraft reliability. Monitor the fleet reliability figures and follow – up or coordinate improvement programs. Compile all SBs issued for the fleet every month and conduct the Tech Review meeting, prepare and circulate the meeting minutes. Liaison with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) for repair schemes, Technical disposition, Maintenance data ambiguities, and new maintenance procedure. Assist engineering planning section in preparation & scrutiny of work scope for major checks. Analyse the Defect reports, Repetitive defects, unscheduled component removals, Confirmed failures, Pilot reports, and other relevant reliability data’s and initiate remedial actions. Prepare the monthly statistics and reliability report for the operating fleet and convene the monthly reliability analysis meeting. Record the decision of the reliability analysis committee meeting and circulate to all concerned. Initiates amendment to Aircraft Maintenance Programme (AMP) to include the tasks arising due to reliability program, repetitive AD’s/SB’s and Damage findings. Generate Engineering orders as required for SB/AD Compliance and ensure that the timelines are maintained. Maintain the fleet weight growth and advise revision of empty weight as required. Prepare work scope for engine & propeller shop visits and preservation of engines. Updating of the ECTM/EHM data to the online portal /software and initiate any follow up action as required and inform to MCC / Maintenance / Quality. Provides Engine Condition Monitoring/EHM and advice Maintenance Planning of engine conditions that indicate a need for engine replacement. Ensures Aircraft Airworthiness Review compliance & C of A renewals on time. Convene the daily defect analysis meeting and discuss the snags and rectifications undertaken to decide on follow up action. Circulate the daily defect analysis report to all concerned for further action. Convene Mod. Committee Meetings, prepare and circulate meeting minutes, implement mod committee decisions. Maintain fleet data of structural repair undertaken on each aircraft and call out for action as decided in Repair Approval Sheet (RAS). Assisting & advising MCC /Line maintenance in matters relating to any structural damages, reported and liaising with manufacturer/DGCA for developing suitable repair schemes as required. Prepare Technical notices for issues to be disseminated to the staff, MROs, etc. Provide technical assistance to Logistics, MCC & Maintenance regarding snags encountered. Monitor Aircraft performance, establish trends and take appropriate actions based on degradation of aircraft performance. Prepare Technical write ups and reports. Support logistics warranty administrator in the process of Initiating and managing the Aircraft, Components, and Engines Warranty-Claims.

• Modification and configuration control, including repairs,
• Direct liaison with Boeing engineering, including manufacturing and in-service support,
• Technical support to other functional streams including Maintenance Programmes, Reliability and Planning,
• Providing Maintrol with technical assistance in support of the day to day operation,
• Providing technical assistance to the MRO team during line and base maintenance,
• Continuing airworthiness reporting to our customers.
