Responsible for engineering program leadership of a new small or medium rooftop product development project of significant program scope.
Accountable for the program budget, program resource estimates, meeting the product requirements and meeting the business requirements for the program.
Develop and coach other engineers on team.
Contributes to the department or business unit by applying their advanced knowledge of one or more functional areas.| BA/BS degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10 plus years of related work experience
MA/MS degree in Engineering with 6 plus years of related work experience| KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for a sub-project of a major new product development program or the entire scope of a new product development program or cost reduction program.
Able to work with minimal guidance and direction from others.
Provide project direction for development engineers, designers and technicians.
Work with internal marketing and operations customers on a daily basis.
Direct efforts that ensure organization compliance with product safety requirements
Support the execution of the Organization technology development strategy and roadmap
Demonstrated strong leadership and team building abilities
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, including coaching and mentoring.
Contributes to the team by applying knowledge of refrigeration design, heat transfer, fan systems and electronic control systems.
Assist and support actions to improve engineering group in the areas of time to market, reliability improvement, and cost reduction of existing products.
Document process improvements as part of standard engineering work.
Interfacing with manufacturing personnel to ensure design meets operations team requirements.
Develops and executes qualification plans for systems and components
Presents project status to senior management at project reviews.
Experience in the specification, design, development and manufacture of products in the HVAC, refrigeration, compression or aligned industries is ideal. Previous relevant products can be both residential and/or commercial air conditioners (air cooled or water cooled), refrigerators, ice makers, refrigeration equipment, commercial chillers, AHUs.
Project management and interpersonal skills and the ability to work within an engineering design team
Technical knowledge of refrigeration design, heat transfer, fan systems, structural analysis and electronic control systems
Demonstrated creativity in new product design
Working knowledge of industry test and safety standards
Working knowledge of manufacturing fabrication and assembly methods
Demonstrated experience in continual process improvement
Follow-up and follow-through skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to facilitate and interact with multiple levels of the organization
Six to ten years of directly applicable experience in engineering design/analysis.
