Aegis Aerospace is looking for a ‘Senior Capture Manager – DoD / Intelligence, Space Programs’ to join our team in Houston, Texas.

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Business Development, we are seeking a proactive, proven business development professional who can lead capture efforts and secure new business wins across our Space & Defense Services, Commercial Space Services, and Space Hardware/Systems Development.  The successful candidate will have a track record of success leading and winning captures for complex US government service and hardware opportunities for the DoD / Intelligence Space community. The ideal candidate will also be versed in the new Commercial Space Industry.

 

This is a highly networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and challenging deadlines. The Senior Capture Manager – DoD / Intelligence Space Programs will have the responsibility of coordinating all phases of the company’s gated capture processes in response to U.S. DoD (primarily USAF and USSF) / Intelligence Communities, and other Space/Defense market requests for proposals (RFPs).  Working with the Proposal Manager, the ideal candidate will help produce business development artifacts and products such as White Papers, Technical Solutions, RFI’s, Sources Sought, and federal/commercial proposal responses. The ability to meet deadlines, excellent customer service skills, a commitment to teamwork, and relentless follow-through will be the key to success in this role. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail is absolutely necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the strategic direction and execution of all aspects of the capture within and DoD / Intelligence communities including customer engagements, campaigns and capture gate reviews.

 

  • Build and maintain a pipeline of potential new business opportunities necessary to achieve Aegis Aerospace Growth Objectives identified in company’s 5-YR Strategic Plan and AOP (Annual Operating Plan). This includes the identification, tracking, development, and pursuit of new business opportunities, within the U.S DoD / Intelligence Community and Space/Defense market segments.

 

  • Leads business development capture activities to secure new or re-compete contracts, or task order business.

 

  • Develops the capture strategy including business and technical solutions for pursuit of opportunities; identifies potential customers, competitive assessments, teaming agreements (Primes & Subs), and price-to-win; leads bid and proposal activities and maintains on-going interaction with Aegis Aerospace Leadership, assigned capture managers, proposal management, and product & services team members.

 

  • 90-Day Plan: The successful candidate should expect to come prepared to create a 90-Day Plan for success within the first 30 days of work. The candidate will work with our business development team to create/develop/evolve capture plans for both follow-on contracts and new business DoD / Intelligence Space pursuits which may include the National Space Test & Training Complex (NSTTC), Missile Defense Agency Integration and Operations for Enterprise Solutions (MIOES), and other key Space/Defense market segment pursuits.

 

  • Ensures that capture managers and proposal team members adhere to sound capture management and business development processes in accordance with Aegis Aerospace business development procedures and quality practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business or Technical (Engineering/Science) field with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in business development activities
  • Experience with and has established relationships in DoD Markets (primarily USAF AFRL and USSF), and the Intelligence Communities
  • Experience managing and leading winning capture efforts for US Government contracts valued over $50M
  • Strong leadership, organizational, reading, comprehension, and writing skills
  • Trained and competent in capture management, Shipley method preferred
  • Experience with collaboration and customer relationship software, such as SharePoint, Deltek’s GovWin, and Salesforce CRM or similar
  • Advanced capabilities and experience & proficiency in MS Office Suite of products
  • Current Secret or Top-Secret Clearance or ability to obtain Secret or Top-Secret Clearance
