Overview

Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking an experienced Specialist Quality Engineer to join our growing facility in Camden, Arkansas.

Under minimal direction, conduct review and approval of design drawings, design specifications and instruction/procedures for Manufacturing, Test and Inspection activities to assure compliance with Quality System requirements. Coordinate review of Supplier related discrepant material, investigate cause of defect/failure and take corrective action, monitor Quality trends and take appropriate preventive action. Prepare reports and analyses, perform special tasks as assigned in support of Quality Program Objectives, and make presentations to Department and Program Management and Customers as required. Serve as the overall Compliance Officer for assigned Program(s).

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

50% - Oversee all quality related issues for assigned Program(s) and serve as Material Review Board (MRB) and Corrective Action Board Chairperson.

20% - Conduct First Article Inspections & Ensure Compliance to all TDP and contractual requirements.

10% - Develop and document all inspection instructions for hardware and materials associated with assigned Program(s).

10% - Support all interactions with designated Customer & Government Representatives including Source and Buy-Off activities.

5% - Support Continual Improvement & OPEX/Six Sigma activities for assigned Program(s).

5% - Visit suppliers to review product & process issues.

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and nine (9) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Requirements:

* US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
* Ability to work effectively under general direction and make proper technical judgments, often under stressful conditions expected.
* Knowledge of Quality Assurance Systems requirements a must.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Technical experience in Quality Control/Assurance, Product Reliability, Laboratory Test Procedures, Production and/or Process Engineering.
* Proficient computer skills with Oracle 12 Database a plus.
* Strong knowledge of statistics and the interpretation of statistical results.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds (ability to lift/move up to 30 pounds preferred); may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization. Depending on the location of the position, visual certification requirement may apply.
