Human Space Exploration (HSE) Advanced Programs (AP) is seeking a strong Spacecraft Lead to become part of our Concept Team, and play an integral role in the development of the NASA Cargo and Logistics procurement. You will collaborate with the AP Gateway Design team to develop and oversee the Cargo/Logistics system architecture, including integration with Habitat module, as well as lead other complex systems design activities. You will serve as the focal point for the development and communication of the system architecture to the team, Customer, and LM Space Executives. As the lead, you will ensure conversion of mission requirements into complete systems solutions that account for design and technology maturity constraints of the system as well as develop system element architecture, design, and interface definitions. You will be heavily-involved in supporting internal and external design reviews, working closely with program manager in an agile-led environment. You will also be developing models and architectural guidelines for future system development and integration with other NASA architecture modules that may not be procured by Lockheed Martin.

Typically has 14 - 20 years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:
Extensive experience in architectural trades and design

Strong systems integration background

Good working knowledge of S/C subsystems to include; propulsion, avionics, GN&C, comm, structures, EPS and thermal.

Prior experience as a spacecraft or subsystem lead on a Space program

Demonstrated ability to lead and integrate teams of different backgrounds and technical cultures

Comfortable presenting and communicating with executive level customers
Desired Skills:
Experience with Human Space, including working knowledge of life support systems

HW/SW integration experience

Strong understanding of NASA architectures

Experience with NASA Customer

Previous proposal work in a lead position

Proficiency in orbital mechanics and mission analysis
