Role Overview
The System and Software Test Engineer will be responsible for integration and acceptance testing of Train Control Applications including Positive Train Control, Centralized Traffic Control, Passenger Information and Display Systems (PIDS), and Back Office. This position measures, analyzes and calibrates equipment on small to medium platforms/projects/systems. Ensures that systems perform accordingly to meet production quality. Documents test results and maintains records.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Ensures that systems run according to necessary specifications on small to medium platforms/projects/systems.
* Measures, analyzes and calibrates equipment and processes to ensure quality standard are met on small to medium platforms/projects/systems.
* Confirms operations according to necessary regulations to ensure production quality on small to medium platforms/projects/systems.
* Documents test results and maintains records for later analysis.
* Measures, analyzes and calibrates equipment and processes to ensure quality.
* Ensures systems perform according to necessary specifications.
* Confirms operations according to necessary regulations to ensure production quality.
* Establishes validation standards and develops testing protocols.
* Prepares equipment for testing.
* Documents test results and maintains records for later analysis.
* Coordinates with other departments who will be affected by testing.

Basic Qualifications:

* This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience.In the absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience is required.
* Testing client-server applications.
* Testing back-end applications.
* Experience with Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems.
* Familiarity with C/C++ and Java programming.
* Experience with SQL commands and Oracle Database.
* Experience with TCL, Python or Perl scripting languages.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with the following: testing SCADA systems and/or train control applications including Positive Train Control; hands on automated testing; requirements management tools; configuration management; user training; technical documentation production.
