Role Overview

This position is for a Staff Engineer, disciplined in Software Engineering, with deep knowledge and highly developed technical expertise. The position will have an emphasis on the design, development, and verification of multiple display software solutions executing on multiple platforms. Some platforms will execute display software as a bare metal application while others will execute display software within an RTOS environment. Each environment will have a different version of display software. A strong background in low-level software is required. An individual with the ability to communicate the system impacts of low-level software and hardware integration issues to colleagues and management is ideal.

* Embedded operating system integration
* Multi-core software design
* BSP software design and development
* Boot-loader design and development

Primary Responsibilities
* Develops, coordinates and conducts complex tests and debugs systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
* Liaises closely with other project team members in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems to ensure smooth operations on software engineering activities.
* Recommends changes in the selection and application of software production components to improve and develop software engineering activities.
* Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support hardware and software product development and function.
* Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
* Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems
* Determines end user needs by analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements and input data acquisition.
* Ensures hardware and software standards are met.
* Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support hardware and software product development and use.
* May develop software configuration standards for company-wide use.
* May train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards.

Basic Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience is required.
